ME AND TOURETTE
I may have physical dysfunctions but my abilities are not crippled.
Doing remarkable things are not mainly about the completeness of ones
physical attributes. Its more about the passion and the heart to do ones
desire.
I have seen lots of movies, testimonies and even documentations that
talks about the greatness of our disabled fellowmen. They tend to do things
which some of us who are complete can do. They outdo their disabilities
and strive to do better things for themselves and for others. And this movie,
Front of the Class has no difference from the latter but the effect that this
movie brings leaves a special feeling to my heart. It is not mainly because
Brad is a person who has language disability but because he is a teacher. It
inspires me when he hold on to that dream and take steps to make his dream
come into reality. He was not reluctant to apply for a position in any school
far or near his residence. And when he does, he takes full responsibility of his
children and gives his best in every chance possible. The idea of
perseverance and resiliency of continue doing his job even if others rebuke
him for what disorder he has and at the end serves as a best asset in the
school is worth following.
We may not have disorders or incapability to both physically and
mentally but what hinder us is our emotional state and thinking. We are
afraid to try the extremes and set to what is conventional and thats mainly
the reason we cant explore our strengths and cultivate our weaknesses.
Lets all try to follow what Brad did, not only in the field of teaching but as to
what expertise we have. May we not let fear and humiliation hold us back to
what we want to do instead use these as driving forces for us to do if not
better then best.
