STAAR Prep/Study Skills

Expectations
Passing Period:
o Get your supplies
o Use the restroom
Bring supplies to class:
o Pencil
o Library book
o Spiral
o Planner
o Spelling book
o Grammar book (8th
o Work
grade)
Complete bell ringer/half page as soon as you arrive to class.
Check board for reminders (due dates/test dates) and fill out
planner.
Grammar/Roots
o Assigned Monday (or 1st day of week)
o Due Thursday
o 8th grade may be bumped to Tuesday/Friday during
track
Spelling
o Assigned Friday (or last day of week)
o Contract due Wednesday; Test Thursday
Work needs to be turned in on time.
o Missing work report is posted on Mondays
o Highest grades for late work:
1 day late = 70
2 days late = 50
>2 days late = 0
When absent for ANY reason, you are responsible for making
up missed work.
o Check crates for missed work
o Ask if you are unsure about anything
o You have the number of days absent +1 to make up
work.
Come to tutorials (M-W 3:06-3:36)

Cellphones will be silenced and put away during class. If

seen or heard, they will be kept on the teachers shelf until
the end of the day.
