SOME THINGS WE ARE

LEARNING THIS WEEK:
WRITING: We are beginning our poetry
unit and will begin by reading a variety of
poems. We will discuss the kinds of topics
poets write about and create our own
topic lists.
READING: We will are beginning our
poetry and music unit! This week we are
learning what poetry is and studying the
various elements such as repetition,
emotion, and rhythm.
MATH: We will continue our geometry unit
by focusing on how to compare different
shapes and will create composite shapes
with 2D shapes we have learned about
already.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will begin a unit on
being good citizens! This week we are
discussing laws and different types if
leaders.
Spelling: Look for your childs spelling test
date in their binder and their matching list
on Spelling City!
