    Mr. Ragsdale,
    I am writing this recommendation on behalf of Bria Echols and her application to be a member of Odyssey next
    year. I assume I should e-mail it directly to you, but if not, please let me know.
    Bria has been a hugely impressive student from the onset of the school year. I have had the pleasure of having
    her as a student in my AP U.S. Government course, in which she has excelled. While her grades are impressive,
    with an A in the course before the 10-point AP bonus and without a single missing assignment, it has been her
    approach to my class that has always stood out to me. Bria is always seeking clarification on points of
    confusion, participating in class discussion, and prepared to defend her points of view during class debates. She
    is extremely respectful of her peers and their (sometimes outlandish or offensive) opinions, seeking to reason
    rather than to argue. Her presence in the classroom has been constructive and invaluable.
    Outside of class, Bria is strikingly personable. She often stays long after the dismissal bell to talk with me, other
    teachers, and classmates. She is naturally inquisitive, and her curiosity about others stories, beliefs, and
    opinions never fails to shine through. I am often impressed by her maturity during these discussions. It is
    apparent that her interest in the subjects of her conversations is genuine, rather than being contrived discourse or
    a shallow set of questions. I imagine that her innately inquiring personality would serve her well in a
    journalistic capacity.
    Bria is one of my most high-achieving, personable, and responsible students, and I would highly recommend
    her for the Odyssey staff. I would be happy to provide any additional information about her if needed.
