Highlands Neighborhood Association Minutes

December 21, 2009

Board members present: Myrna Coleman, Dianna Wright, Andrew Brown, Michelle Brown,
Rose Klein and Rod Hubbard.

Andrew Brown made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as printed.
Seconded by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Jim Klein made a motion to pay all bills, including the printing of the newsletter, Boy Scouts
for delivering the newsletter, state sales tax on pizza that was sold at the Pool Party and two
books of stamps. Seconded by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Jim Klein made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as e-mailed and printed. Seconded
by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Andrew Brown made a motion to table the discussion of changes to the Bylaws until later in
the meeting. Seconded by Jim Klein. Approved.

Dianna Wright commented on the Lighting Contest that we need an updated map for
whoever is doing the judging since the old map didn't even show all the new streets. Jim
Klein reported that he had delivered most of the prizes and in his opinion 10 or 12 prizes is
enough, eighteen is too many.

Rose Klein made a motion that we approve the changes in the Bylaws as printed. Seconded
by Dianna Wright. Approved.

Kris Meek brought thank you cards for the board members to fill out and send to the
businesses that donated prizes.

We adjourned at 8:30 pm..........We reconvened at 8:45 pm.

Kris Meek made a motion to pay whoever drives for the Lighting Contest to be paid $20 per
night for reimbursement for their gas. Myrna Coleman drove the judges around both nights.
Seconded by Rod Hubbard. Approved.

We adjourned at 8:50 pm. The next meeting will be Monday, January 18, 2010 at 7:30 pm at
the Fire Station. According to the new Bylaws the January meeting is the annual
meeting held for the purpose of electing officers and other directors and approving the
year's budget.
