Fund Raising:
Membership Drive: Bill Crank announced that during the 2013 year, the Grange had 44 paying members and 3 Golden sheath. As of February 18, we already had 42 paid members.
We had tentatively planned a St Patrick Day Dinner for March 15, 2014. Since Corinne Holder is out of town, we will wait until she returns before scheduling this event.
Bob Halley made a suggestion that we consider a Piled Potato event. This would be a baked potato bar a with numerous toppings and also a salad. He suggested the charge for this event be by donation.
New Business:
Bill Crank informed the membership he had recently received information that the IRS has revoked the Granges Tax Exempt status. This was due to failure of the Grange to file the required IRS tax returns over the last 3+ years. This revocation was effective May 2013.
Bill will investigate the necessary steps and cost to get this status reinstated. It was agreed that if the cost was less than $2000 we would proceed.
Kay told the members of the recent death of a Redlands Mesa neighbor. Saul Smithson recently passed away and a memorial ceremony will be held at the Grange.
A bid to replace the buildings windows came in a $5,388 for 7 windows. It was decided to hold off on this for the present.
The March meeting will be devoted to a discussion of ideas for improvements at the Grange building. We would like to get ideas and suggestions from the membership. Gloria Crank will email all members notifying them of the upcoming discussion.
A motion to adjourn was made by Bill Crank and seconded by Bob Halley.
