I asked this to find out what certain genders prefer in an action film. From my questionnaire, 79% of the respondents were male and 21% were female. This means that I can see what responses each gender had and see if they are similar. It also means I should try and implement responses from both genders into my opening sequence. It also means I should mainly target my opening sequence at males and what they want.

I asked this to see what age groups prefer in an action film. From my questionnaire 93% of the respondents were aged from 13 17 and 7% were aged from 35-44. This will help me see if people in certain age groups enjoy action films, and what opinions they have. I should target my opening sequence at males aged 13 17 as this is what the majority of the respondents were.

I asked this to see what genders and ages enjoy action films, so that I know who to aim it at. From my responses, 86% enjoy watching action films, and 14% dont. This means that I can see what the people who enjoy watching action films like about them. I can then try and implement these features into the opening sequence to appeal to them. All of the males except one said that they enjoy watching action films. All of the females except one said that they enjoy watching action films. This means that I should focus on what the 86% like as it includes both genders.

I asked this to find out what sort of music I should use in my opening sequence. From my responses, 64% said suspense, 7% said rap, 14% said electronic and 14% said other. This means that I should have suspense music in my opening sequence as it is what most of my audience prefer in an action film. I can also try and include some of the other types of music if its appropriate to try and appeal to a wider range of people. The majority of males and aged 13 17 said they prefer suspense music. I should make this age group target audience as they mostly wanted suspense music.

I asked this to find out who I should make the main character in my opening sequence. From the responses, 36% said male, 21% said female, 29% said a group and 14% said other. This means that I should make my protagonist male as that is what my target audience would prefer the protagonist to be. It means that the majority of the audience will be more inclined to watch it as well. The majority of the males said that they want a male protagonist, so I should use this as it is what the majority of my target audience prefer. The females had equally mixed responses, meaning it will be difficult to determine what is preferred by them.

I asked this to find out where I should set my opening sequence. From my responses, 57% said city, 7% said space and 36% said a run-down area. This means that is should base the opening sequence in a city area to appeal to the majority of my audience. I could also include the run down area as well as a large amount of respondents preferred that. Including both would appeal to a wider range of people. The majority of males aged 13 17 said that they prefer the city setting. This means that the majority of the responses match what my target audience want in the opening sequence. The majority of females aged 13 17 prefer the city setting as well, which is appropriate as well as they fall under the target age group.

I asked this to find out what I should make the villain in my opening sequence. From my responses, 58% said male, 14% said female, 21% said group, 7% said other. I should make my antagonist a male as this will appeal to the majority of my audience. This means that the majority will be more likely to watch it if the antagonist is male. The majority of males aged 13 17 said that they would prefer a male antagonist. This means that I should use this as the majority of my target audience prefer this. The females had an equally mixed response, so it is hard to determine what they preferred.

I asked this to find out what sort of things I should try and include in my opening sequence to make it more appealing. The respondents were allowed to pick more than one option. 79% said fight scenes, 64% said car chases, 50% said chases on foot, 29% said destruction, 36% said gun fights, 21% said explosions and 14% said other. This means that I should have the main focus as fights scenes as a lot of the respondents picked that as one of the options. I should also try an implement car chases and chases on foot as well as they are also liked by a large amount of people. Including these will make the opening sequence a lot more appealing to the audience. Trying to include them all will make the sequence overdone and will seem crammed. The majority of my target audience said that they want fight scenes, meaning that I should make this a focus of the opening sequence.

I asked this to see what role I should give the main character in my opening sequence. From my responses 36% said criminal, 29% said superhero, 21% said spy/agent and 14% said other. This means that I should make my protagonist a criminal, in order to appeal to my audience more efficiently. My target audience responded equally between a criminal and a superhero. I should mainly focus on making them a criminal as that is what the majority of my target age group prefer.

I asked this to find out if I should focus on character development in my opening sequence. From my responses 86% said yes and 14% said no. This means that is should focus on developing the story and the character in my opening sequence. This means that it will appeal to the audience more if I have some background on the character and have some detail about the storyline. The majority of my target audience said they think character development is important, so I should make this a large part of my opening sequence. All of the female respondents said that character development is important, and the majority are in my target age group. This means that character development is important to both genders aged 13 17, my target age group.

One respondent was male aged 13 to 17. This falls under my target audience. This person enjoys watching action films, so what they say that they want in an action film will be appropriate to what I should add into my opening sequence. They said that they think that suspense music is the most appropriate to an action film, and this is the most popular choice among my respondents. This person said that they would prefer to have a male protagonist and antagonist in an action film. These were the most chosen choices amongst the respondents, and this person falls under my target audience as well. This means that people in my target audience prefer to have a male protagonist and antagonist. It can also mean that this person prefers these options as it is their own gender. This person said that they would prefer to have a city setting in an action film. This person falls under my target audience, and has chosen the most chosen choice of setting. From this, I can see that people in my target audience will prefer a city setting to anything else. This person said that they like to see fight scenes, which was the most popular choice. They also said that they want the protagonist to be a criminal, which was the most popular choice. This person seems to enjoy action films because of the fights scenes, so may dislike other things, such as car chases. However, this person said that they think that character development and story development isnt important in an action film, which was the least popular choice. This means that they enjoy the action in a film, and arent focused on if the character and story is developed.

One of the respondents was male aged 13 17. This person is in my target audience, so should take into account what they have said. This person said that they enjoy watching action films, so the things that they say that they like to see in an action film is relevant and important to my opening sequence. This person said that they think suspense music is the most appropriate to an action film, which was the most popular choice. This person said that they want a female protagonist in an action film. This could mean that they think there should be more strong female characters in action films. Opposed to the more common option of a male. They also said that they want the antagonist to be a male, so they could enjoy having two opposed genders as the hero and villain. They said that they want to have a city setting, which was the most popular choice among my target audience, which this person falls under. This person ticked all of the options available for what they like to see in an action film. This means that they like to see lots of various action in an action film, not just a focus on one. They said they think the protagonist should be a superhero, which was the second most popular choice. This could mean that this person enjoy superhero films, where the hero defeats the villain. The person said that they think story and character development is important in an action film. It means that people in my target audience believe that I should develop the character and story in my opening sequence.

Individual Response 3:
One of the respondents is a female aged 13 17. This means that it will be interesting to see what people outside of my target audience think about action films. They said that they enjoy watching action films, so my audience will not just be males, but both genders. They said that they think suspense music will be best suited to an action film, which was the most popular choice among the responses. From the three responses I looked at, all three think suspense music is the most appropriate, so I should focus on including this as people in and outside of my target audience think suspense music is best. This person said that they think a group of protagonists would be best suited to an action film. This means that they think a strong group of people should work together to

defeat the antagonist, rather than an individual. They also said that they want a male antagonist, so may enjoy a strong group working together to defeat someone. They said that they think the best setting would be a city setting, the most popular choice. This means that both genders think that a city setting would be good, as opposed to just males. This person said that they think fight scenes, car chases and chases on foot are well suited to an action film. This means that they dont enjoy destruction, explosions and gun fights. This could mean that certain things are preferred to certain genders. However, this person said that they think a spy/agent will be the best role for the protagonist, this could mean that they enjoy spy films. They said that they think story and character development is important in an action film. This means that both genders believe story and character development in an action film is important.
