Singapore Trilogy Story

Part 1: IDEAS OF INTENT AND DREAMS Everything started from an idea to move out the comfort zone PLANS

My name is Jeff, and this is my first time writing a blog slash journal slash
memory book of what had happened in our pursuit of finding a job in Singapore. It all started last July 2012 when we began to think of applying for a job abroad. From there we submitted our resume online and to various agencies in situated Metro Manila (Capital City, Philippines). I keep on saying we, our, that is because we are actually three in this plan. Myself, my best friends, Vic and Ate Bham. All of us are nurses working in a tertiary hospital in Naga City (Bicol Region). And we dont have any regret of working in St. John Hospital, Inc. as this became our second home. However, we came to realize that eventually we need to seek professional growth and personal maturity, which that time can be done by taking one step outside the line of our comfort, of our home.

After an in-depth weighing of pros and cons of this decision, we were finally became motivated to go on with our plan. That is when we decided go to Manila and seek available job hiring bound to Singapore. But, inevitable circumstances happened that time. Yes we found agencies that offer Singapore jobs however, we did not passed their clinical experience requirement. But this did not hold us back to move on ahead in our plan. Instead, we said to ourselves that we will try our luck by walking-in SG Hospitals. That was when we planned to travel to Singapore instead as a tourist. And this I tell you, was a little risky and scary. Risky in terms of money, and scary in terms of legality, I mean passing both immigration. (Hehehe)

PRE-DEPARTURE

1White Bea everything.

Passing the Philippine IMMIGRATION is scary! And a little stupid. LOL. Prior that, my two friends had their bloopers, and I was the only one who hadnt any yet. HAHA. And to my surprise, my blooper is when I was going through the Philippine IO and got

questioned. Which made my heart pulsated faster and harder. Questions were; What is your work here? Where is your company ID? Your PRC ID is about to expire? Hahahah! GGGRRR. But later I said to the lady IO that I am with my 2 friends also and showed her our return ticket (Which we intended not to use).

SINGAPORE ARRIVAL Our arrival in Singapore Immigration is smooth and easy. Hehehe. Even if Vic was questioned also by their officer. We bought our SG Simcard and got a free Universal Charger. Singapore to our first impression is a clean and organized city. Damn sure like a city in a garden.

ARRIVAL IN HOSTEL Our first hostel is in Geylang Area, Lorong 27. The name is 98SG. Seems like an old hostel but kinda ok and just good enough for us to stay for several days. The hostel has free BREADfast (Breakfast served with bread only hehe). Laundry is $SG3.00 for washing and another same price for drying. However, what we loved most was its free Massage Bed. This was used mostly by ate bham Hehehe. FIRST MONTH IN SG Hostel Foods Activities THE EXTENSION EXIT TO MALAYSIA, KUALA LUMPUR BACK TO SINGAPORE FIRST WORK APPROVAL Not so good.
