(aintain 2 improve (aintenance 3est Practices +(3P-. 3e included in appropriate operations leadership meetings so that the maintenance function is represented in business planning and formulation of the manufacturing/operations plans and maintenance budget. 3e included in reviews of improvement team efforts as appropriate. #nsure that maintenance short and long range plans e ist to meet defined ob'ectives #nsure that appropriate metrics are tracked and communicated to the organi4ation. #nsure that appropriate recognition is given to maintenance efforts #nsure that ade%uate technical resources are available to support the maintenance function +e.g. metallurgist, materials engineer, and maintenance systems consultant, others as appropriate-. #nsure that the maintenance organi4ation is appropriately connected to industry and DuPont networks to ensure that the organi4ation is aware of new technologies and methods. &hese networks should include like processes, similar e%uipment and maintenance systems. #nsure that appropriate corporate resources are available and utili4ed to measure and improve unit performance #nsure the maintenance organi4ation has the necessary skills and knowledge &rouble shooting of plant e%uipment/machinery. (anagement of maintenance activities and mechanical e%uipment to ensure systems run with minimal downtime Planning for Predictive and Preventive maintenance of e%uipment/machinery #nsuring that safe work practices are being followed during maintenance activities Developing and %ualifying vendors for e%uipment and spares Annual (aintenance )ontract finalisation. Plan for PP( #nsuring that safe work practices are being followed during maintenance activities. Developing and %ualifying vendors for spares and machinery and for contract maintenance 'obs. )ontractor !afety 5esource and )ontract administrator for maintenance contractors. #nsure all !afety related activities which includes P!(, /ire, *", #nvironment, Distribution !afety, #rgonomics etc.. are managed 2 e ecuted as per applicable standards. )oordinate !"#, P!(, *", /ire, #rgonomic, #nvironment, Distribution !afety related system re%uirements are being tracked for compliance. &o coordinate with different functions like operations, (aintenance, supply chain 2 0uality 2 &echnology to effectively implementation of (aintenance system re%uirements. &o make, evaluate and help to develop ma'or 'ob plans with the task owner and 'ob plan coordinator to ensure safety considerations are addressed and supervise the same in the field during e ecution as 2 when re%uired.
