Field Day is a fun time for everyone! This year our
Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 23. Make sure
you are dressed appropriately and have lots of energy!






Storyfest 2014

Kick off Summer Reading at Storyfest 2014 on Saturday, June 7,
from 9:00-4:00 at The State Museum. A FREE day filled with
family friendly events, including author presentations,
storytelling with local storytellers, craft area with face painting,
visits from Cocky and Smart Cat and a Readers Theater
presentation! Learn about how to join Summer Reading
programs in your county. Meet award winning authors Nina Crews and Brian Lies.

As a reminder to all parents it is
important that
you check the
balance of your
childs account.
We are no longer allowed to
charge meals. If your child has a
negative balance in his/her
account they will be given a
peanut butter and jelly sandwich
and milk for lunch. We
appreciate your help in this
matter.

Health Room Info . . .

Tuesday, June 3, is the last full day of school. If
your child has medication in the health room
please make arrangements to pick up the
medication before the end of school. *Students
cannot transport medication home from school*.
The parent or guardian will be responsible for picking up all medication from the
Health Room. No medication will be kept here over the summer. Any medication left
in the health room after June 6 at dismissal (10:45 a.m.) will be discarded. If your
child will be receiving medication at school next year, please plan to bring the
medication to the Health Room after August 14, 2014.

*No medication can be given without a permission slip*! This includes cough drops.
You can go to the DFES homepage and print a permission slip for the prescription or
over the counter medication. Remember, all medications must have a permission
slip. If you have any prescription medication for the upcoming 2014-2015 school
year the permission slip must be signed by your doctor before the medication can be
accepted in the health room. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a
call at 476-3906.

Summer Math Brochures

Summer math brochures for each grade level will be available on our
school website under the FOR PARENTS section throughout the summer.
Students are encouraged to work on these activities during the summer
months and bring completed samples to their homeroom teacher by the
3
rd
day of school. Teachers will decide on rewards for completing these
activities. The brochures can also be downloaded on the district
webpage by clicking on Office of Instruction>Mathematics>Math
Resources.
