1.2.1. RUN-UP TESTS
Engine test runs after coordination via Dispatch, engine test runs on idle power
may take place on stands. Engine test runs above idle power will take place in a
location designated by AIR OPS (Duty Officer).
1.3.
RWY OPERATIONS
180^ turns on RWY not authorized.
All ACFT turning onto TWY A from RWY to Apron C, use caution and maintain
minimum speed necessary to make the turn. Area is prone to damage from high
speed turns.
1.4.
PARKING INFORMATION
Apron G limited to ACFT with MAX wingspan 72'/22m.
Apron D limited to ACFT with MAX wingspan less than 131'/40m.
Apron entrance is only allowed with Follow-me assistance.
Marshaller assistance is compulsory for parking in entire apron area.
Pilots are expected to follow marshaller signals without hesitations. Expect
oversteer.

Due to terrain, traffic circuit should not be flown less than 3 miles from island.
RWY 33 right-hand circuit.
3. DEPARTURE
3.1.
START-UP, PUSH-BACK & TAXI PROCEDURES
Before start-up contact LAJES Clearance Delivery to obtain ATC clearance.
Include call sign, requested level, requested speed (mach number/TAS), ATIS
acknowledge, ACFT type and position for departure (if none requested, ATC will
assign according to RWY usage system).
All ACFT shall request engine start on ground frequency, include parking position
and POB.
On all aprons maximum allowed power limited to BREAKAWAY POWER if not
foreseen in Flight Manual use minimum power necessary to manoeuvre. Stands
and/or vehicles passing behind on apron service roads.
Departing ACFT will obtain "Oceanic Clearance" after handover to "Santa Maria
Radar".
3.2.
NOISE ABATEMENT
3.2.1. GENERAL
Due to noise abatement procedures, jet ACFT taking off RWY 15 are to apply the
maximum climb rate possible.
