Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful summer and is ready to
work hard. Intermediate Algebra is a course designed to give you a stronger
mathematical foundation to prepare you for success in Algebra II Common Core and/or
future college courses. SENIORS: If this is your 3rd math credit, you must pass this class
in order to graduate!

Folder to store tests, quizzes & worksheets

Scientific Calculator

Your quarter grade is determined by:

Quizzes
Homework

Quarterly/Midterm/Final

HOMEWORK
The completion of homework is a very important part of your success in this course.
Your effort on homework will directly affect your understanding of the material and your
grade for the class. Homework will be assigned daily (including Friday) and should take
you 15-30 minutes to complete. It will be written on the sideboard so make sure you
check it daily.
Homework will be checked everyday
Late homework will not be accepted.
If you are absent, you must show me your homework upon returning to school or
you will receive an incomplete.
EXTRA HELP
Extra help is given every week in room A233. Check the sideboard for days and times.
It will also be available upon request.
ATTENDANCE

Please keep in mind that excessive absences and latenesses will not be
tolerated and may jeopardize course credit.
Students who are absent are responsible for missed notes and assignments
If you will be out for a number of days, please make arrangements with the
school to request work ahead of time.
PARENTS
Parents play a very important role in student achievement and together we can create a
successful school year for your child. Please take advantage of the parent portal
throughout the year as I will keep your childs homework, test grades, and attendance up
to date weekly. Access to the parent portal can be found on the Sachem home page
www.sachem.edu on the upper right-hand side of the screen.
