Mrs. Scoggins--Teacher

Please dont forget that the $20 deposit for Raleigh is due this Friday. If we do not receive payment
from your child then we will assume that they will not be attending. We need to have an accurate
count of those that will be going in order to determine how many seats will be available for parents who
may want to ride the chartered buses. Parents that will be driving separately will not have to pay
anything since all of the museums and historical buildings are free of charge.

This week is Hiddenites Kindness Week. Students will be involved in various activities promoting
kindness towards one another. Please note the following dress up days and projects for reminding
students that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in other peoples lives.
TuesdayDreaming of Kindness (wear pajamas)
Wednesday---Think TwiceBe Kind (dress as a twin)
Thursday---100th Day of SchoolWe are never too old to be kind (dress to represent 100)
FridayTeam up for Kindness (wear sports clothing)
The 40 Acts of Kindness sheet is due on Friday (complete at least 30)

In celebration of Dr. Seuss Week (beginning March 2) each grade level will be doing various activities
centered upon a book authored by Dr. Seuss. Fourth grade selected the book The Sneetches, which has
a good lesson for young and old to think about. At the conclusion of the celebration, we will be having a
school-wide parade on March 9. We would like for students to dress similar to the main character by
wearing a yellow shirt with a green star. We can make the stars at school to be pinned on their shirt, but
if students have a yellow shirt to wear on this particular day then that would make the parade more
special.

We are currently studying moon phases and how the moon relates to the earth. Please encourage your
child to look at the moon each night and record what they see on their moon journal. They should try to
do this at the same time each night.
