(1) DESCRIPTION OF TASK

This assignment is to be done in a GROUP OF THREE. For this assignment,

you are required to choose ONE (1) of the topics listed below, and find ONE
(1) MAIN newspaper article and several (minimum 3) reading materials
(books, magazine, newspaper article etc) RELATED to the topic you have
chosen. The topics are:

Tourism
The Food that We Eat
World of Sports
Social Issues
Environmental Issues
Health
Culture & Entertainment
Education Issues
Science and Technology
Natural Disaster
Books/Reading Materials
Current Issues

(2) PREPARATION FOR TASK

a. Before reviewing your newspaper article, make sure that your lecturer
approves it. Your newspaper article should not be too short.

b. After the article has been approved by the lecturer, you are required to
read the newspaper
article and write a short report. You have to include these information in
your report:

Summary of the important ideas (Based on the main article)

Discussion on the topic (Information from related reading
materials)
Personal reaction to the article/comments (Your own opinion)
Recommendation or suggestions(to improve or solve your
chosen issue)

c Take note/underline/highlight any important information in the articles

that you think
would be very useful for your report writing. Make notes if possible.

d Make sure you cite the writer from whom you take your information from
in your article review.

e Before you submit your report, make sure you have attached the main
newspaper article as appendix. Also, make a list of reference on the
reading materials that you used to discuss the topic.
f The report should be about 8 pages long (1 each for reference, appendix, &
title page); typed; 1.5 spaced; Times New Roman; font size 12; stapled
(once) at the top left side of the report.

g The pages are numbered.

(3) PRESENTATION

a. Each group is required to present the findings of their Article Review

in Week 13 - 14. All group members are required to be involved in the
presentation.

b. The duration of the presentation will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for

Q & A session.

(4) EVALUATION
