E.g.: Jose Rizal is our national hero.

"Lets proceed to Opinion. An opinion is a personal feeling or


judgment about something."

E.g.: All people love basketball.

: Blue is the best color.

: He is stupid.

"Did you get the thought?" "Yes, Sir."

"Okay, give me a statement of opinion. Yes, Ryan." "I dont like broccoli."

"How about, the others? Yes, Crislin." "Pizza tastes great."

"Very well said. I think you have listened well to my discussion.

Generalization

"Facts can be all or some of the following: can be proven, real

"Opinions refer to a particular person's feeling, thought,


judgment, belief and cant be proven."

Application
(Group work) Divide the class into five groups. Each group will
form a circle and members should help one another to arrive the
correct answer to the statements read. The greatest number in
points wins.

FACT or Opinion?
1. Blue is the prettiest color.
2. Sarah went to the store on Monday.
3. A camel is a mammal.
4. Spinach tastes great.
5. Everyone should go to the movies on Friday.

IV. ASSESSMENT
Directions: Tell whether the statement is a fact or opinion. Write F if it is a Fact and O if it is an Opinion.

1. Mr. and Mrs. Gomez have a son and daughter.

3. Kiwi is a kind of bird.
4. I know you have a strong personality.
5. Bears are voracious animals.

Directions: Give your own opinion about the Philippine educational system. A minimum of 100 words.
