SCENE 1
(A shabby looking bedroom, with paint coming off the walls.
Advik has just been physically abused by Riyaz and Shyam.)

RIYAZ
Arre, Advik! Tu ro kyu raha hai?
(Advik tries to look away while Riyaz gets hold of his face.)
RIYAZ (CONTD)
Aaj itne saalon mein, tu pehli baar
roya!
(Riyaz pets Advik)
SHYAM
Hum tujhe kahan nuksaan pohochaane
wale hai? Hum toh tere dost hai,
humein bata sakta hai tu!
(Advik breaks down)
ADVIK
Jaane do mujhe! Aur mat pareshaan
karo mujhe!
RIYAZ
Arre Advik, aise kaise jaanede
tujhe?

(In a sing-songy fashion)

RIYAZ (CONTD)
Tu bandhi hai mera, tere ek ek
kadam par nazar hai meri!
(He gets angry and grabs Advik's throat)
RIYAZ (CONTD)
Toh fir agle hafte mile?

(Riyaz pretending to be innocent)

RIYAZ (CONTD)
Bechra shant sa hai, kuch bolta hi
nahi!
SHYAM
Kuch bolta hi nahi!
(Chuckles)

(Walks towards the audience)

SHYAM (CONTD)
Bhai, lekhak mahoday toh humein
Ravan ki Lanka mein, ya Lucknow ki
kisi choti si gali mein bhi basa
sakte the!
Agar hum aisa kisi aur ke saath
karte, khair chodiye, hum kar hi
nahi paate! Wo log ne apni
zimmedari khud hi li hoti!
RIYAZ
Uske liye toh humein humare priya
Advik ke pitaji, pyaare MLA,
Indranil Nayak ka dhanyawaad karna
padega! Itne acche se khayal rakha
hai unhone, humare Advik ka!

(Honking of the car)

INDRANIL
Arre Advik!aur kitni der lagegi
tumhe
(Advik pulls himself together)
ADVIK
Jee, Pitaji!

(Advik leaves the stage)

SHYAM
Riyaz, kya hum theek kar rahe hai,
uske saath!?
Bahut nuksaaan pahunchaya hai humne
usse itne saalon mein!
Kuch galat to nahi kar rahe hum?
RIYAZ
Bilkul hi sahi kar rahe hai hum.
Indranil Nayak ek sada hua keeda
hai, uska saara khandaaan issi
layak hai. Ab mauka milte hi,
Indranil Nayak ka kaam tamaam.

SCENE 2
(Indranil walks in from the left of the stage and Riyaz and
Shyam exit from the right)
INDRANIL
Ye kya tum fuddu ki tarah chalte
rehte ho!
Tattar raho!
(MORE)

INDRANIL (CONTD)
Indranil Nayak ke bete ho tum
dikhna chahiye sabko!
ADVIK
Jee, Pitaji!
INDRANIL
Din bhar kuch karta nahi hai tu,
apni zindagi theek karne ka koi
irada hai? Khud ki kuch zimmedaari
leni nahi hai kya tuje?
ADVIK
Zimmedaari!?
(Chuckles)
(Walks towards the audience)
ADVIK (CONTD)
Vo toh tab lunga na jab mein uss
shaitan ko hara pau, jisne muje iss
nirasha ke daldal mein dubo ke
rakha hai!
Vahi daldal jaha par apne maa ki
maut ke baad aapne muje dhake diya
kyunki aapki sarkar aur paise jyada
important hai!
Ye sab baatein jaise ki iss
ghuskhor ke palle padne waali hai!

INDRANIL
Sambhal apne aap ko, nikkame kahi
ke.
Aur vo Riyaz se door raho, tumhare
liye sahi nahi hai vo!
ADVIK
Aapko badi chinta ho rahi hai ab!?
Mantri mahashay!
Jab khayal rakhna tha tab aapne
rakha nahi!
Lalach mein aapne itne bure kaam
karke, janta ka aur mera dono ka hi
samarthan gava diya hai!
(Grabs Advik by the collar and leaves from the left of the
stage)

SCENE 3
(Riyaz enters the stage from the right with his paralyzed
mother on wheelchair)
 4.

(Two ward nurses enter the scene along with the mother who is
in a wheelchair, carrying a saline bottle)
RIYAZ
Aashirwaad do Ammi.
Abbu aur aapka, Dono ka hi badla
lunga main!
(Starts sobbing)
Aaj, main nahi ya Nayak nahi!
(Riyaz walks towards the stage)
RIYAZ (CONTD)
Haan, Main bhi dusre insaanso ki
tarha, thoda nasamajh hun! Baukhla
jata hun mai! Jaayaz ho ya
Najaayaz, Apna gussa sambhalne ki
zimmedari nahi hai mujhme.
Ye galti hai meri!
(Starts sobbing again)
Par, galti ho ya na ho, Indraneel
toh iski bharpaai karni hi padegi.
Karni hi...
(Looks at a Knife)
(Takes a Knife and Leaves)

SCENE 4
(Indranil and Advik are sitting on the dinner table on the
left of the stage)
INDRANIL
Chaaval aur daal idhar do!

(Slightly opened door creaks and Riyaz enters and looks at

Indranil, and Advik is still eating)
INDRANIL (CONTD)
Tum yaha kya kar rahe ho!?
(Indranil and Advik get up and stare at Riyaz)
(Indranil wipes his face furiously and looks out of the door)
INDRANIL (CONTD)
Arre, andar kaise aa gaye tum!?
RIYAZ
Aree..vo..vo..gate khulla tha!
 5.

(Looks at the audience to take in on them what his intentions

are)
(Riyaz pretends to be scared but he knows this is the moment
he has been waiting for)
INDRANIL
Toh andar kya karne aaye ho!?
RIYAZ
Mein aapse aur Advik se maafi
maangne aaya hun.

INDRANIL
Advik, jaao paani le kar aao!
(Advik is scared with the sort of premonition that something
is about to go down)
INDRANIL (CONTD)
Kis baat ki maafi!?
RIYAZ
Maafi se kaam nahi hoga!
AAj mein kisi aur cheez ka pyaasa
hu!
(Drops his knife in between the fingers of Indrani's palms)
RIYAZ (CONTD)
Ammi aur Abbu ke saath jo kiya uske
liye toh khuda bhi tuje maaf na
kare.
(Indranil is sitting in the chair and Riyaz has his knife on
the top of the head rest of the chair and he revolves around
his chair)
INDRANIL
Lekin..beta..Riyaaz!
(Riyaaz stops him mid-sentence)
RIYAZ
Chup, ekdum chup! Maafi filhaal toh
tumhare aukaad ke bahar hai, sabko
khareedne ke chochle jo tumne paal
rakhe hai aaj uska anjaam bhugatna
hoga!
(Glass breaks at the right corner of the stage, Advik is
stunned at the sight)
 6.

RIYAZ (CONTD)
Aeee..aaeee...tu..tuu...idhar aa!
(Pulling Advik by his arm)
RIYAZ (CONTD)
Lag jaa line mein apne baap ke
peeche, jo bhi tuj pe beetegi sab
tere baat ki kaali kartuton ki
vajah se!
(Riyaz has the intention of stabbing Idnranil but Advik out
of his love for his father comes in between Riyaz and
Indranil and Advik gets stabbed)
INDRANIL
Ye..Ye tune kya kiya, maar diya
mere bete ko.
(Riyaz freezes)

(Advik who is bleeding furiously who sobbingly sits down)

ADVIK
Tattar reh Advik, kaise!?
Kaise rahe Advik Tattar, jab uska
baap hi uski kamar tod de. Jisse
kandho par ghumana tha, usse
bachpan se hi kutte ka patta baandh
kar ghumaya!
Aur tu..
(Points at Riyaz)
ADVIK (CONTD)
Khudko..mera dost kehta hai na!?
Sab jaanta hu mein ki mere pitaaji
ne tere parivaar ke saath kya kiya
tha!
Par unke paapon ki saza tune muje
kyu dii!?
Seriously, itna gussa? Itni
nafrat!?
Aankh ke badle aankh, aise toh
poori duniya aandhi ho jayegi!
Don't let this anger consume
yourself!
TAKE THE LEAD OF YOUR OWN PROBLEMS!
(Meanwhile the police enters)
POLICE 1
Ae, isko andar karo!

(Police 2 grabs Riyaz's hand and walks away with him)

(Indranil looks at Advik with teary eyes, Advik is still
bleeding and he has passed out. Realization strikes Indranil
and he stops the police)
INDRANIL
Inspector sahab, rukiye!
Main bhi kuch kehna chahta hu..
