From the moment she started in August 2016, Anastasia Athens has been a
welcome addition as a University of Utah intern to Gearld Wright Elementary
school's 4th grade team. I have had the distinct pleasure of serving as her coach
and mentor from the beginning. Miss Athenss rapid growth has been notable.
From day one, Miss Athens created a deeply caring, supportive, and organized
classroom atmosphere, which the students responded to immediately. Her
administrators, colleagues and parents in the community quickly noticed her
efforts; I have received nothing but positive feedback as I have engaged in
conversations with them.
Additionally, I have been impressed with how well she has worked with one of our
schools tough students as he was assigned to her class this year. Working with
him has required patience, love and fortitude on her part. She has responded like a
seasoned professional, meeting his needs while not neglecting the rest of her class.
Miss Athens adapted to our school culture and learned quickly. She is now highly
proficient in our schools adopted educational technology as well as the software
programs Granite School District uses to record keeping, instruction and
assessment.
Miss Athens is a strong, knowledgeable educator. She will continue to grow and
refine her craft; and in doing so will be a valued member of her school faculty.
Sincerely,
