Six family members die

in road accident
PEKAN, June 8 Six members of a family died when the Proton Iswara car they were travelling in
collided with a trailer at KM78 along the Kuantan-Segamat road near Pekan, at 8.45 last night.

Pekan Deputy OCPD, DSP Amran Sidek said those who died in the tragedy were the car driver, Norfaizah
Mansor, 31, her four children Norsyahira Atika Saudi, 13, Norsufia Saudi, 10, Norsuhaila Saudi, seven,
and Mohd Shahrul Amir Saudi, three, as well as Norfaizahs younger brother, Mohd Saiful Anwar Mansor,
14.

Amran said all the victims were returning home to Pekan after visiting Norfaizahs parents in Keratong 2,
Rompin when the accident happened.Upon reaching the scene of the accident near Kampung
Runchang, the Proton Iswara, which was coming from the direction of Segamat, tried to overtake the
vehicle in front but failed and collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction, he told
reporter.Amran said both vehicles failed to avoid a collision, resulting in the Proton Iswara ending up
under the trailer.

He also said all the victims died on the spot due to serious injuries on the head and chest while the 44-
year-old trailer driver and his wife, 43, suffered minor leg injuries.He said the case was being investigated
under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act.Meanwhile, Norfaizahs father, Mansor Hamid, 55, said he
did not expect that his childrens and grandchildrens visit would end up in such tragedy.Normally, the
youngest grandchild would not follow the mother back to Pekan, but this time, everyone wanted to go
back, said Mansor who came to know of the tragedy at 11pm and immediately rushed to the scene.

Norfaizahs mother, Arfah Sulung, 54, said her daughter came home with her younger brother and
children because she wanted to meet her husband, who works in Bukit Ibam, Muadzam Shah.She said
her son-in-law had planned to take my daughter and their children to Melaka on a vacation during the
school holidays.

PEKAN, June 8 Six members of a family died when the car they were
travelling in collided with a trailer at KM78 along the Kuantan-Segamat road
near Pekan.The incident happen at 8.45 pm on 6th June 2014.It was reported
that 3 of the victims died on the spot due to serious injuries on the head and
chest while the 44-year-old trailer driver and his wife, 43, suffered minor leg
injuries.
The case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road
Transport Act .The victims who died in the tragedy is the car driver, Norfaizah
Mansor, 31, and her two children Norsyahira Atika Saudi, 13 and Norsufia
Saudi, 10, while, Mohd Saiful Anwar Mansor, 14 and Norfaizahs younger
brother Mohd Shahrul Amir Saudi, three had a serious injury and they were
been in treatment in Pekan Hospital.
Police , fire and ambulance officer attended and have some traffic
moving around the site within an hour. Police said the multi-purpose vehicle
was badly-damaged after losing control following a collision with a lorry.The
victims were returning home to Pekan after visiting Norfaizahs parents in
Rompin when the accident happened.Upon reaching the scene of the
accident near Kampung Runchang, the Proton Iswara, which was coming
from the direction of Segamat, tried to overtake the vehicle in front but failed
and collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles
failed to avoid a collision, resulting in the black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-
4 ending up under the trailer. The car is believed rollover because the roof
dented, windscreen is broken and all wheels fall off car. The car is also
believed to have crashed with the guardrail causing the million dollar car
looks like a piece of junk. All victims were taken to the hospital Pekan,
Pahang.
The mood at the Pekan Hospital mortuary was highly emotional as
family members of the victim arrived. Norfaizahs father, Mansor Hamid, 55,
said he did not expect that his childrens and grandchildrens visit would end
up in such tragedy because usually ,their youngest grandchild would not
follow the mother back to Pekan, but this time, everyone wanted to go
back.His father told he was very shocked and sad when he came to know of
the tragedy at 11pm and immediately rushed to the scene.Meanwhile,
Norfaizahs mother, Arfah Sulung, 54, said her daughter came home with her

The victims who saved was only realized two days after the tragedy
and they celebrated their holiday with sadness because they not expected
that their plan to go on vacation end up with the tragedy that sacrified three
of their family members.
