Summary:
The need for compact heat exchangers has led to the development of many types
of surfaces that enhance the rate of heat transfer, among them and perforated
plate heat exchangers. The perforated plate heat exchangers consist of a series
of perforated plates, that are separated by a series of spacers. The present study
investigates the local heat transfer characteristics of flow through a perforated
plate with 2 mm in diameter, hole length to diameter ratio of 1 and porosity of
25.6%. For the determination of the local heat transfer, numerical simulations
were performed. Reynolds numbers based on the perforated plate pitch were
in the range from 80 to 300. The results of average Nusselt number prediction
were compared with the related experimental correlations. The experimental
results agreed on qualitatively with the results obtained using a CFD.

Summary:
The goal of this paper is to investigate thermal and fluid flow processes in an
air/water perforated plate heat exchanger. The experimental investigation was
carried out over a single perforated plate which was installed in an experimental
chamber and heated by hot water. A fan with the variable flow was connected
to the experimental chamber, and the flow rates were varied from 100 up to
360 m3/h. The thermocouples were attached to the surface of the perforated
plate along upwind and downwind side, as well as at the inlet and outlet of
the chamber. During each experiment, the readings of thermocouples were
recorded alongside with air and water volume flow and temperatures of water
at the inlet and outlet of the chamber. On the basis of the experimental results
equations for heat transfer and pressure, drops were established. On the end, a
comparison was done with other authors.

HEAT BALANCE OF LOSSES IN PLANETARY GEAR DRIVES

Predrag Živković, Faculty technical science, Kosovska Mitrovica,
jomine@sbb.rs

Summary:
Planetary gear drives have extremely high specific caring capacity. Great
energy is being transmitted per gear drive mass unit. A part of this energy
which is by friction being transferred to thermal energy, is heating the gear
drive components. With prolonged intensive work, the quantity of released
heat can be more significance greater than of the emitted one in surrounding.
This article treats two issues. The one is concerning producing balance between
mechanical losses and released heat. The estimate outcomes of the released
heat are put in balance with the mechanical energy losses. The other issues is
concerning solutions that can provide heat balance at the prolonged stationary
gear work.

Summary:
Worm gearing has very wide use in power transmission in movement and the
limitation of the complete machine system depends on it. Load capacity by
worm gear transmitters is determinate with their geometry parameters and
lubrication. With suited selection of parameters it is possible to have influence on
load capacity of worm gear pair and of whole transmitter. This is very important
in the transmitters with compact construction when working conditions have
limitations working space. In this paper in present one optimization method of
geometry parameters with load-carrying capacity and increase of limitations.
Here is presented variation of geometry parameters with no change of center
distance and materials.

and using of new technologies.
This work emphasizing the importance of technological change of processes
and products made from plywood panels, in order to ensure competitiveness in
the domestic and foreign market.
3D plywood was created as a response to the increased demand for products
that can be moulded into complex 3D forms, like metal or plastic. However, in
this case appears well-known problem of anisotropy of wood. This problem is
solved by patented mechanical modification of wood.

Summary:
Subject of this work is focused to developing computation procedure for residual
fatigue life estimation of cracked structural components under load spectrum.
Finite element method is used for determination of the stress intensity factors
(SIF`s) of structural element with surface cracks. These discrete values of the
stress intensity factors of cracked structural components are used for derivation
of analytic function for SIF that is necessary in crack growth analyses. To
demonstrate efficient computation procedure in residual fatigue life estimation
of damaged structural elements here numerical examples are included. For
residual life estimation of cracked structural elements here Forman and Mettu
method is used. In this approach a low cyclic fatigue material properties are
used. Computation procedure to strength analyze with respects to fracture
mechanic and residual life estimations is applied to aircraft structural elements
with surface cracks under load spectrum. Computation results are compared
with correspond analytic experimental results.

THE ADVANTAGE OF USING DIGITAL QUASI-SLIDING MODE IN

Summary:
This paper presents a comparative analysis of two techniques for controlling
DC-DC buck converters: the analogue technique that is based on the
proportional-integral-derivative (PID) sliding mode (SM) voltage control, and
the digital one using quasi-sliding mode based generalized minimum variance
(QSMGMV) control. Both converters provide good voltage regulation and
exhibiting robustness to parameter and load variations. The voltage regulation
in the converter with QSMGMV controller is achieved by measuring only the
sensed output voltage, whereas with PID SM controller, the use of current
sensor is mandatory. The former convertor has also smaller output voltage
ripple in comparison with the latter one. On the other hand, the acceptable
performance in the converter with PID SM control is reached by tuning only
three controller parameters in familiar way.

Summary:
This paper deals with stability problem of cart inverted pendulum controlled
by a fractional order PD controller. Inverted pendulum is an underactuated
mechanical system because it has one control input and two degrees of freedom.
Mathematical model of cart pendulum system is derived and fractional order PD
controller is introduced in order to stabilize it. Control strategy consists of two
parts, a swing up controller and stabilizing controller. Problem of asymptotic
stability of closed loop system is solved using the D-decomposition approach.
Stability regions in control parameters space are calculated using this method,
and tuning of the fractional order controller can be carried out.
Keywords: inverted pendulum, fractional order PID, D-decomposition,
asymptotic stability

Summary:
Intensive development of diesel engines over the past 25 years, has significantly
improved their operating and environmental characteristics. The application
of advanced diesel technology has set specific requirements in terms of
the characteristics of diesel fuel. Both market requirements and legislation
introduced new formulated diesel fuel. However, in our country is still in use
a large number of outdated engine, particularly in the areas of agricultural and
non road vehicles, military techniques ... This paper discusses the effect of
changing the essential characteristics of the fuel on the working process and
lifetime of these diesel engines. The results of the experimental research of
working process diesel engine DMB 3DA450 with diesel fuel according to EN

Summary:
An automobile bumper is a component, which contributes to vehicle
crashworthiness during front or rear collisions. Selection of the most suitable
material for the bumper involves the study of a large number of factors, such
as, mechanical, physical, and chemical properties as well as formability and
cost. This selection process can be regarded as a multi-criteria decision making
(MCDM) problem, which may be solved applying mathematical computations.
The use of recently developed MCDM methods for selecting the most preferred
material for the bumper is described in this study. Obtained results revealed
unanimously that high density polyethylene (HDPE) is the most suitable
material for this application.

Summary:
The research was conducted for the purpose of determining the possibility of
diagnosing faulty MAP sensor readings of an automobile spark ignition engine.
In that sense, an engine with no air-flow meter, operating under steady-state
conditions, was tested on the test stand. The engine fuel system was operating
in a closed-loop mode with the oxygen sensor. The tests were carried out in
several operating points, first with the engine operating without any faults
and then with a reading fault of a MAP sensor. Three different intensities of a
mentioned fault and their impact on the engine speed and MAP sensor signals
as well as on the injection pulse width and the spark angle were considered in
the study. The measured values were compared with the corresponding values
obtained with the engine operating under no-fault conditions. The results are
shown in the diagrams followed by the appropriate comments.
