EAST JAMAICA NEWS FROM REV. RON GREY
Greetings to you all. Our children’s camp was held for the first time on our grounds in St. Mary’s. The attendance was 52 children plus counselors and other workers. They all had a wonderful time. And we are looking forward to improve the facilities as we go by.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE ANNUAL REPORT OF STILLMEADOW CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE 2009-2010 It gives me great joy to report the accomplishments of the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene during the church year 2009-2010. This has been a year of growth and change just as each of the proceeding 12 years have been. Some rearview mirror Stillmeadow Highlights The vote of the Phase 4 Project Part A was held and the congregation following the church board’s leadership voted to move forward with the purchase and renovation of 350 Chestnut Street. We continued our work with Forward-in-Faith in the area of capital stewardship. The survey was encouraging and held a lot of good information regarding our congregation. This was a year- long commitment by our leadership in preparation for our Faith Forward Campaign in the spring of 2010. This included Pastor Bud writing a devotional to be used by our entire church during Lent along with sermon outlines, video production telling the Stillmeadow Story, the development of a more cohesive functioning of the two campuses and a realization of our entire church that we are they and they are us. Now looking through the windshield The launch of our Faith Forward Campaign is under way. We are seeking 100% participation. Dr. Stan Toler, General Superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene and founder of Forward-in Faith, was our guest speaker for our launch. During May we will be announcing our participation in this faith raising campaign. Our York City Campus renovation is underway. - Pastor Kent Vandervort Associate Pastor Administration/Facilities
