Strengths of the lesson:

Used students and manipulatives as a lesson starter.


Great to use warm bodies to generate interest.
Asked an open-ended question to provoke thought and understand
vocabulary.
Reviewed doubling, went on to halves.
Gave an example of how to compute division problems.
Played video about doubling therefore utilizing the technology
component.
Asked students what they understood from watching the video.
Used whiteboards to show individual understanding.
Had student come up and explain concept to class.
Introduced differentiated activities.
Areas for development:

Other than LAB groups, allow students to have a choice.


Time ran out. Find a way to shorten lesson because the lesson was
extremely helpful.
