General Meeting

Joanne Kirkland, Vice President called meeting to order at: 7:16pm

Nielson, Maureen Nielson, Kristine Brownscombe, Stephanie Smith, Ed Dort, Art Kaehn

Adoption of Agenda: Motion made to accept by Niels Nielson. Seconded by Kristine

Brownscombe . Discussion. All in favor. Carried.

Adoption of minutes from June 5th/18 : Discussion. Motion made by Niels Nielson. Seconded
by Ed Dort. All in favor. Carried.

Treasurers Report:

 Do not have one as Pat Suter is not available.

o Not much different Joanne Kirkland said.

Old Business:

 Grass Cutting
o No response.
o Niels & Maureen Nielson, Art Kaehn, Joanne Kirkland and Cliff Halls have helped
up to this point.
o Hyde Park still hasn’t been done at this point.
o Willy McAuley’s ride on needs a battery but can be used if someone will replace
the battery.
o “Supply the time and the mower, we can supply the gas” motion made by
Maureen Nielson. Seconded by Willy McAuley. All in favor. Carried. To be placed
on website and Community of Hixon page to see a response.
o Art Kaehn stated that the price for fuel would roughly be $25 including week
whacking. (approx. 6-7 more times needed)
 Water System Repair
 o Niels Nielson stated that it has not be repaired yet. He said that Lisa has
someone lined up to do whatever needs to be done. She is buying a new piece
and a splitter. Splitter needs to be taken off for winter.
 Concession Repair:
o Material is there for the ramp, railing, and ceiling inside (1x6 boards).
o For all materials came to $407.35 at Eagle. They gave us a 10% discount.
o Need volunteers to help.
o Need a plan; those who tore it down need to be there for fixing said Joanne
Kirkland.

Committee Reports:

 Hixon Hill Riders

o Joanne Kirkland had a fun, good time with a gymkhana practice.
o She picked up all the materials for the jumps etc that they are going to be doing.
 Building Committee
o Ramp Light
 Still don’t know if it works after dark.
o Motion made by Willy McAuley that Niels Neilson pick up light bulbs and 4 foot
fluorescents to replace burnt out ones. Seconded by Maureen. All in favor.
Carried. He will be reimbursed for them all.
 Fall Fair Committee
o Going.

New Business:

 Bee’s Nest at end of Ramp

o Val Merritt stated that there is a bee’s nest at end of front ramp. Niels Nielsen
will take care of it.
 Lights in Bar
o Florescent lights out in bar.
o Lights will be bought by Niels.
 Plant Hangers
o Kassandra Merritt said it would be nice to have them up by the pillars.
o Motion by Niels Nielsen that Niels Nielson buy 3 plant hangers for in front of
support pillars. Seconded Kassandra Merritt. All in favor. Carried.
 July 14th, memorial for Tony Thompson/Labelle
o 1pm.
o 9am prep on day of for those who want to help.
