PHOTO-ESSAY CONTEST

SCIENCE
1. Open to all Senior-High School students with or under a Science subject.
2. At least one participant per strand is required.
3. An entry to be considered shall comprise the following.
a. An original 5”x10” photo interpreting the theme: Science for the People Liberating Education
through Innovation.
b. The photography subject/s shall be existing structure/location within the campus of Muntinlupa
National High School.
c. Photo must be taken during the competition period (September 17-21, 2018) and should not have
won nor have been published in any book or magazine.
d. Only creative effects done through the camera (at the time of exposure) are allowed.
e. Photo must be taken at the highest resolution (.tiff, .png, .jpg) to ensure maximum optimization for
print output.
f. Secure the signature of all your science teacher at the back of the photo that will serve as a seal of
authenticity.
g. Write a one to three-paragraph essay in English with no more than 200 words (excluding
punctuation marks), appropriately titled, and briefly explain the message of the photo. Use the
following format for the essay:
i. A4-sized bond paper
ii. Arial Font, size 12, Black
iii. Justified alignment
iv. 1-inch margin in all sides
v. single spaced
4. Criteria for judging will be as follows:
a. Clarity and Appropriateness of the Title 5%
b. Clarity and Effectiveness of Composition 25%
c. Relevance to the Theme 10%
d. Clarity and Quality of the Main Idea 20%
e. Creativity and Quality of the Photo 25%
f. Relevance of Essay to the Photo 15%

5. All participants will receive Quiz Certificate equivalent to one quiz.
6. All entries must be submitted on or before September 21, 2018, 3:00PM c/o Sir Rico P. Bantiles and Mam
Lyric S. Bantiles (first door faculty room).
