PIPING MODULE
WORLD

The principal elements are Pipes and their subordinate

Branches.
Each Pipe can represent any portion of the overall piping
network, while each Branch represents a single section of a
Pipe which runs between two, and only two, points (called the
Branch Head and the Branch Tail).

FLOW CHART FOR CONCRETE MODEL IN PDMS

Civil concrete Model is prepared based on :

i) Frozen arrangement drawings issued for engineering.
ii) Preliminary Foundation / Beam / Column / Pile / Pile caps whose
preliminary maximum size / type & Locations are decided in
consultation with Civil.

Prepare & Issue Civil arrangement drawing to Civil for design of building / foundation

Receipt of Civil arrangement Drawings marked with

i) Member sizes.
ii) Additional members required, if any, due to design of the building.
iii) Location of members as per the design of the building.

Update PDMS model as per above mark up drawing & clash check of the members done.
Corrections required due to clashes are done either in locating the member to avoid clash or
shifting of clashing item to clear the concrete member.

Issue of Civil arrangement drawing from PDMS & RCC details drawings from Auto cad
for construction.

NOTES:-
1) Sometimes if the Client is not happy with the PDMS arrangement drawings , the same
are drawn in Autocad.

FLOWCHART FOR CIVIL STRUCTURAL MODEL IN PDMS

Structural Members are Created in PDMS Model based on

i) Frozen Arrangement drawings issued for Engineering.
ii) Location & Preliminary maximum member sizes decided in
consultation with Civil Design Department.

Structural arrangement Drawings are Defined in PDMS & issued to Civil for Building Design.

Receipt of Structural arrangement Drawings marked with

i) Member sizes.
ii) Additional members required, if any, due to design of the building.
iii) Location of members as per the design of the building.

Update PDMS model as per above mark up drawing & clash check of the members done.
Corrections required due to clashes are done eitherin locating the member to avoid clash or
shifting of clashing item to clear the structural member.

Structural arrangement drawing (generated in PDMS) issued for Construction along with the
detail drawing prepared in Autocad (e.g.Moment connection or shear connection detail) .
Normally the cutouts of say 500 mm size or higher are released at this stage.

Smaller cutouts required in grating due to pipe passing through floor or support plate
resting on steel member are released when all thelines are released for construction.

NOTES:-
1) Sometimes if the Client is not happy with the PDMS arrangement drawings , the same are drawn in Autocad.
2) In some cases the structural members are released progressively based on the engineering status.
e.g a) After arrangement plans are frozen the columns & main beams are released for fabrication.
b) After equipment drawings are approved & big bore pipes are finalised – the secondary beams for equipment
support & pipe supports are released for fabrication.
c) The tertiary members (for grating support) & bracings are released for fabrication, when the piping is finalised for
all isometrics.
