 Compose and perform a rhythmic pattern

3. Materials: Lucy pockets

 Sing and play game, as warm up

3. Lucy Locket
 Echo patterns with steady beat
 Echo with rhythm tappers
 Have rhythm at board and students ID missing rhythms
 Discuss patterns – what do students notice?
 Explain rhythmic form – ABAB
 Teach loud/soft hiding game!

 T. sings new song and asks questions
 Students echo with steady beat
 Sing whole song?
 Review so-mi signs and sing 1st phrase with signs
 Place phrase on the staff in spaces
