Running head: WELCOME LETTER 1

Dear families,
Welcome back to another exciting year! I’m happy to introduce myself as
your child’s 7th grade English teacher.
Some things about me, I am a graduate of Rutgers
University Graduate School for English Education. This would
be my first-ever year teaching, so it will be a new experience
for myself as it will for your children. In my spare time, you can
find me cozying up in a blanket with a really good book with
my parakeet, Pudgey. I have two siblings as well and an aunt
of three amazing kids!
This year, we will be reading books and short stories
that will involve your child becoming active in real-life events
in class. We will be participating in mock-trials with another class as well as a
spelling bee with the whole school! Future field trips include the class going the
see Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol near the coming holiday season.
Volunteers are always welcome! If you would like to volunteer for class
activities, my email is listed down below!
Items needed for this class would include:
 A 1 inch 3-ringed binder
 Lined paper
 Pens/Pencils
 Highlighters
 Sticky notes (optional)
 Index cards (optional)
Please feel free to donate some tissue boxes and/or hand sanitizers! It never
hurts to be germ-free near the allergy season!

Extra help is always being offered! My hours are

from 2:30-3:20, or by appointment. My email is listed
below and always open for any concerns!

I’m looking forward to an amazing year with everyone!

Sincerely,
Ms. Vergara
