Project Proposal

The project my group is planning on doing is the campaign project. The project is about gun
control, and how it is not a great tactic in solving the problems guns bring along. Our main goal is to raise
awareness about what really is happening, and to convince people to try to look at the other side of the
argument, and make a good informed choice. We want to convince people to join our side using evidence,
simulations, and reliable sources. In this proposal we will be looking at why we are able to do this project
such as categories as budget, materials, time, dates, and sites we will publish our campaign on.
The budget is not a thing we need to worry about so much for this project because, we have most
of the materials we need to film. We may need a few props, and costumes, but our budget shouldn’t be
over 20 dollars. My partner and I both have jobs, so we could easily cover the budget. We have a camera
we use for recording already, and backgrounds, as well as things to make the scenery of our studio look
good. We have an editing program we use to put the project together. The rest of the props and costumes
will be covered in the budget we have, which takes care of the materials part that I need to talk about.
The next aspect needed to be covered is time. This project will take up the entire time within both
of us, because the time it takes for us to put the video together alone should take most of the time. There
is the scripting of the video, filming, editing, and making sure that it is to the best of our ability. We also
have to worry about putting it all together, and getting everything together we need for the video, for us to
make it informative, and realistic. The other part that we need to take care of is the research. In all, this
should cover the whole time that both of us need. The last project we had that involved a video took
around four hours to shoot and edit it. That was for only 5 minutes of video.
We plan on finishing the project in the next few weeks once we get all the equipment together,
and people. However, the editing and researching won’t need any getting together of people, which will
be helpful. Which leads us to the sites we will publish the work on.
The sites that we will publish on, will mainly be youtube. To get the word of our video out there,
we will use our HWP instagram, and our personal accounts to get the word out there. We will also publish
it on facebook to get the word out there even more. We will also make fliers to promote our campaign
video.
One controversy that our campaign will face, is that people may get offended about what we talk
about. This is a controversial topic, and we plan on researching facts, and facing the controversy head on
with them, rather than opinions and feelings. Our goal is to inform people of another way of thinking, and
this is what we want to portray.
In all, making this video for the campaign will be worth the time it takes, because it's promoting a
cause we are passionate about, and it will meet all of the academic requirements needed for the class.
