Need Assessment

Problem (Need)
Teachers at a high school site need technology training on basic educational applica-
tions. The problem is there is no time to address technology training needs during fac-
ulty meetings, or department collaboration due to higher priority issues at the school.
With no protected time to train new hires how to use educational technology applica-
tions, new teachers continue to struggle with use of technology applications.

Purpose

New hire high school teachers will be able to create a Google doc after receiving train-
ing.

Target Group

The targeted group will be new hires and first year teachers to Kennedy High School.
The targeted group will have little to no experience using the educational application
needed to perform the appropriate duties of being a Teacher at Kennedy High.

Delivery System
Technology Leader can provide training through a screen recording program like
“Screencastify” which allows a user to record their desktop screen. The technology
leader can use this recording program to create opportunities for online video tutorials.
The leader can record how to use each educational application, then post the tutorial
videos to a google classroom technology training page for new hires to watch and learn
how to use the educational applications.
