B. Identify the potential uses of MS Excel window
C. Appraise the important of spreadsheets tool

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Opening prayer, greetings
2. Checking of attendance and/or assignment
3. Drill: Getting to know about basic Microsoft office. present it in the class
4. Review: What are the two types of data and Survey?

B. Developmental Activities
1. Motivation:
“GUESS THE WORD”
The teacher introduces the game, show the word need to arrange to
form a words that connect to a new lesson.

2. Establishing the purpose of the lesson


a. What is a spreadsheet?
b. What are they use for?
c. Why is it important to familiar the parts of spreadsheet?

3. Word Enrichment:
Tool or Software - development tool is a computer program that
software developers use to create, debug, maintain, or otherwise support
other programs and applications.
Microsoft Excel - is a spreadsheet program included in the Microsoft
Office suite of applications.
Spreadsheet - an electronic document in which data is arranged in the rows
and columns of a grid and can be manipulated and used in calculations.
4. Learning Experiences:
4.1 Explain the significant of parts of the Microsoft Excel and different location.
1. Spreadsheet Software
A type of application program which manipulates numerical and string
data in rows and columns of cells. The value in a cell can be calculated from
a formula which can involve other cells. A value is recalculated automatically
whenever a value on which it depends changes. Different cells may be
displayed with different formats.

2. Spreadsheet Uses
-School: Student grades, payroll
-Sports: Individual and team statistics
-Personal: Checkbook, household expenses
-Business: Payroll, investments

3. Office Button: A button that provides access to workbook-level feature


and program settings.
4. Quick Access Toolbar: A collection of buttons that provide one-click
access to commonly used commands, such as Save, Undo and Repeat.
5. Title bar: A bar that displays the name of the active workbook and the
Excel program name.
6. Ribbon: The main set of commands organized by task into tabs and
groups.
7. Column headings: The letters that appear along the top of the worksheet
window to identify the different columns in the worksheet.
8. Workbook window: A window that display an Excel workbook.
9. Vertical scroll bar: A scroll bar used to scroll vertically through the
workbook window.
10. Horizontal scroll bar: A scroll bar used to scroll horizontally through
workbook window.
11. Zoom controls: Control a for magnifying and shrinking the content
displayed in the active workbook window.
12. View shortcut: Button used to change how the worksheet content is
Displayed-Normal, Page Layout, or Page Break Preview view.
13. Sheet tabs: Tabs that display the names of the worksheet in the workbook
Sheet tab scrolling buttons: Button to scroll the list of sheet tabs in the
workbook.
14. Row headings: The numbers that appear along the left of the worksheet
window to identify the different rows in the worksheet.
15. Select All button: A button used to select all of the cells in the active
worksheet.
16. Active cell: The cell currently selected in the active worksheet.
17. Name box: A box displayed the cell reference of the active cell.
18. Formula bar: A bar displays the value or formula entered in the active
cell.

1. Generalization
Students will learn spreadsheet electronic are easier and powerful to use
than old paper spreadsheet. They much interesting and appealing to the eye
and great to organized more data.
