With less than a month until the Formula 1
season kicks off with the Australian Grand
Prix in Melbourne on March 17, we are
able to make our first assessment of the
class of 2019 cars on offer.
Day one of testing in Barcelona threw up a
few surprises as some teams went out to
lay down a marker, whilst others were out
to get to grips with the new car. One was
not out at all.
Here's five things we learned from the first
day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya…
Vettel is aware of the situation

testing and won't be on Tuesday or much
of Wednesday either. The results of the
delay in building the car – which is still at
their Oxfordshire factory – will likely now
have a knock-on effect for the first few
races of the season.
It has also lead to much doubt surrounding
the future of technical boss Paddy Lowe,
who joined from Mercedes in 2017, fresh
from being a senior figure in the team who
at the time had just won their third
consecutive world title double.

testing – four this week and four next week
– before the party begins in Melbourne

the beachfront via a river adjacent
to the business. He said the proof
of the contamination is found in the
foul smell from the pipe that
contains disposed fatty
substances clinging inside the
pipe. LHK staff have taken
samples from the pipe to
absolutely prove its source.
Meanwhile, an inspection by LHK
officials of the Restaurant's waste
water treatment facility (IPAL)
prompted officials to say that is
well known to be a plant in a poor
state of repair. LHK has issued a
warning to the owners of the
restaurant that they have 30 days

outdoor shower used by visitors
only to rinse sand from the bodies
of beach visitors. The restaurant
said they are also undertaking
laboratory testing of the discharge

Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has
issued the following guidelines on
how to avoid the potentially fatal
effects of being struck by lightning:
1. Quickly take shelter inside
a building or your car when
you hear thunder or see
lightning in the distance
2. If you are in a swimming
pool or Jacuzzi, quickly get
out to a location far from
the water. Lightning can
disperse its energy to any
standing pools of water.
