TEACHERS’ MONTH CAMPAIGN
With the theme “Gurong Pilipino, Kaakbay sa Pagbabago”, Calawitan National High
School had a long month celebration of Teachers’ Month through campaign which was led by the
SSG Officers on September 29, 2017, a week before the celebration. They conducted a short skit
showing the ways on how to give respect and gratitude to the teachers. It was performed in every
classroom by the supervision of their adviser Mr. Ralph Anthony M. Apostol.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

On the actual day of the celebration, SSG Officer with the help of all Club Organizations,
Student Teachers as well as the Grade 11 TVL students organized an event on October 4 2017.
The program was held at the CNHS covered court at exactly 9:00 am which was led by Hazel
Mempin, SSG President and Alqueen Santiago, AP Club President; they were mistress of the
ceremony. The said event was started with the entrance of the teachers with our beloved and
respected principal Mrs. Francisca Salvador and was followed by Boy Scouts carried our
National Flag and School’s Flag. Our national anthem was sung by the beat of Alqueen Santiago
and followed by the prayer for teachers of Hazel Mempin. Afterwards, Mrs. Salvador ; the loving
mother of CNHS teachers and students shared some thoughts and had a deep regard for our
heroic teachers who sacrifice a lot in teaching industry for the sake of the students. All words of
Mrs. Salvador marks and touches a heart.

Thereafter the principal’s message, MAPEH Club together with English Club by the
choreography of their adviser Mr. John Lexter Payumo have performed a dance number. But
since the celebration was for teachers, CNHS Faculty members also showed their talents in
dancing on stage. We saw in their eyes and faces how happy they were while doing the dance
craze “Baby Shark” and “Dahil Sayo”. Next to these, teachers enjoyed the games prepared by
Yes- O and Math Club; the games were Wikarambulan, Kantaririt, Jack ‘n Poy, and Pantomime.
All winning groups received prizes.

After the happiness here comes the melo- dramatic part of the event which was the tribute
Spoken word poetry of Angelica Salonga (Grade 12 student), and Paulo Ambrocio (Grade 10
student) to the teachers. This is to make them realize how important they are to their students
despite of all bad times they had experienced every time they enter the classrooms because of
unethical things we’ve done to them. And to tell them these words; Sorry, Thank you and I love
you.

Moreover, through surveys conducted by English Club Officers to the students, teachers
received certificates and gifts form their students. But it is not just the teachers who must receive
gifts but also the Mother of CNHS Mrs. Salvador. Each of the teachers gave something to Mrs.
Salvador and had some words for her.

On the last part of the event, all the CNHS faculty members as well as the Staffs shared
lunch on a buffet prepared by the Grade 11 TVL students and was managed by Mrs. Joy Aguilar,
their adviser.

It was really a great event and a well spent day for everyone. To all teachers like them
they indeed deserve to be happy and to have some good time for all the good works they have
done to us.
