NARRATIVE REPORT ON OUR FIRST CLASS

IN CHEMISTRY FOR ENGINEERS(lec)

On the fifth day of August year 2019 we had our first meeting with Engr. Jocelyn Rodriguez Balisnomo
our professor in the subject Chemistry for Engineers(lec). Before starting the class formally, we had first an activity
that will help each and every one of us know each other. Professor Jocelyn Balisnomo instructed us the mechanics
of the activity, to start the activity, we rearranged the chairs in a circular manner, leaving a space inside. After that,
we put our shoes in the middle part of the circle, the first person picked a pair shoes and described the personality
of the owner based on his/her shoes. Then, the owner of the shoes stands up and introduced his/herself to the class,
shared his/her expectations to the subject, class and professor, the owner also shared his/her reasons why he/she
chose chemical engineering. After the owner’s turn, he/she picked a pair of shoes and described the personality of
the owner based on the shoes. This cycle continued until the last pair of shoes was picked.

Unfortunately, as the activity goes on, there were four of my classmates who came late, for they were not
informed that we started the class earlier, and because of being late each of them presented an intermission number,
as the class decided this to be the consequence.

At the end of the activity I myself, had a great experience of knowing my classmate. Everyone shared
laughter and I can say that the barriers between each of us has slowly removed. I’m looking forward to see my
classmates as one of my family
