Agenda: Start of 3rd Quarter

Today marks the official beginning of my teaching journey, and it's a blend of excitement and
nervousness. However, I received a short but impactful message from my cooperating teacher that
boosted my confidence. She assured me that I can do this, emphasizing that she sees confidence in me.

Before diving into my classes, we participated in the Flag Ceremony, a customary start to
Mondays. Following that, there were announcements regarding the new greetings protocol. From now
on, we're using "Magandang buhay," to be answered with "Mabuting tao." Additionally, students were
reminded to always wear their IDs and adhere to the proper uniform.

During the announcements, there was recognition for the students who participated in the City
Meet. Gordon Heights National High School secured the impressive third position overall, a moment of
pride for me as all participants gave their best to represent our school admirably.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I didn't have the opportunity to meet my first subject.
However, I utilized the time to remind them about the requirements, specifically emphasizing the need
for an index card with an attached photo.

Overall, it was a day filled with a mix of emotions, but with the support and encouragement
received, I'm ready to embark on this teaching journey with determination and enthusiasm.

Agenda: Review and Finalizing my PowerPoint

Today is a solemn day for us as we mourn the passing of our esteemed Principal, Esperidion F.
Ordonio. It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to a leader who has left an indelible mark on our
school community. To express our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy, the entire GHNHS
family will be attending the burial service and tribute at St. Peter's Chapel Memorial in Sta. Rita,
Tabacuhan, on February 6, 2024. This gathering not only serves as a gesture of respect but also
provides us with an opportunity to offer support to Sir Dion's grieving family during this difficult time.

In light of this unfortunate event, Ma’am Julie, our administrator, has instructed us to remain at
home and attend to important tasks. Taking advantage of this time, I have finalized my PowerPoint
presentations, which I will be utilizing for tomorrow's lessons. Despite the setbacks we have
encountered in recent days, I am determined to commence my teaching and ensure that my students
receive the education they deserve. My goal is to catch up on the curriculum while ensuring that the
learning experience remains enriching and meaningful for my students.

As we navigate through this period of mourning and adjustment, I am committed to honoring Sir
Dion's legacy by upholding the standards of excellence he instilled in our school community. Though
his physical presence may be gone, his teachings and influence will continue to guide us in our
endeavors.

Topic: Concept of Gender & Sex

Today marked the official commencement of my third quarter topic, centering around the
intricate concepts of Gender and Sex. As I stepped into the classroom, I was greeted with a blend of
excitement and nervousness. It was the moment of truth - the first time I would be solely responsible for
guiding my students through the day's lessons, with my cooperating teacher observing from the wings.

Despite my preparation, there was an undeniable flutter of nerves as I stood before my students.
Yet, I took solace in the fact that I had meticulously planned engaging activities to kickstart our
exploration. One such activity was the "Character Traits" game, designed to spark discussion and
introspection. I presented two representations, one male and one female, prompting the students to jot
down the characteristics they associated with each gender based on their own perceptions. Watching my
students enthusiastically participate and share their insights filled me with a sense of accomplishment
and joy. It was evident that they were not only engaged but also eager to delve into the topic at hand.
This initial interaction served as a reassuring precursor to the day's lessons. With the ice successfully
broken, I seamlessly transitioned into the core of my lesson, introducing the overarching theme of
Gender and Sex. Throughout the day, as I facilitated discussions and activities, I continually gauged the
students' understanding and interest. It was immensely gratifying to witness their enthusiasm and
curiosity unfold as we navigated through complex ideas together.

Following the conclusion of my three class sessions, I had the opportunity to engage in a post-
conference with my cooperating teacher. Her feedback was invaluable, highlighting areas of strength
while also offering constructive criticism. Time management emerged as a key aspect for improvement,
with a gentle reminder that a brief extension for wrap-up was permissible to ensure a coherent
conclusion to the lesson. Her encouragement bolstered my confidence, reinforcing the importance of
effective communication and closure in educational settings.

Reflecting on the day's experiences, I recognized the significance of continuous growth and
adaptation as an educator. Moving forward, I am committed to refining my teaching strategies,
prioritizing clarity and alignment with course materials. Each day presents a new opportunity to learn
and evolve, and I am eager to embrace the journey towards becoming a better educator for my students.

Topic: Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

Today marked the commencement of a new chapter in my teaching journey as I delved into the
intricate and crucial realm of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) with my students. The
prospect of guiding young minds through such a complex and sensitive topic filled me with a blend of
excitement, anticipation, and perhaps a hint of apprehension. As I stepped into the classroom, I was
acutely aware of the responsibility resting upon my shoulders. The aim was not merely to disseminate
information but to foster understanding, empathy, and inclusivity within my classroom. Armed with
meticulously crafted lesson plans, I embarked on this journey of exploration and enlightenment. The day
began with a moment of quiet reflection, allowing both myself and my students to mentally prepare for
the discussions that lay ahead. I could sense a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty among the class,
indicative of the weightiness of the subject matter. However, I was determined to create a safe and
nurturing environment where all voices could be heard and respected. To break the ice and set the tone
for the day,
I introduced a series of interactive activities designed to spark dialogue and introspection. One
such activity was a "Para kay INDAY or DODONG" exercise, where students were encouraged to
identify the pictures presented in front if it’s belonged to dodong or male and inday for female.
Throughout the day, we navigated through a myriad of topics, from understanding the differences
between sex, gender, and sexual orientation to exploring the challenges faced by individuals within the
LGBTQ+ community. I emphasized the importance of empathy, respect, and allyship, urging my
students to be agents of positive change in their communities. I also introduced to them what is the
different types of LGBT such as bisexual, transgender, homosexual, gay and etc. As the day drew to a
close, I found myself overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude and humility. Despite the
challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead such as the tv is not working and some of them are confused
because there are so many terms that they need to know and since I’m handling some students which a
part of LGBT I show them my support by saying to them that there is no wrong about what you are,
their feelings as long as they are not hurting other people because by showing you support them it can
boost their morale and giving their confidence.

In the quiet moments after the final bell, I took a moment to reflect on the day's events. I was
reminded of the words of Maya Angelou which I always said to them before I leave them: "Do the best
you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." Today, I took a step forward in
my journey as an educator, armed with newfound knowledge, empathy, and determination to create a
more inclusive and equitable world, one classroom at a time.
