Title of the Article

1. Difficult Concepts (What concepts did you find difficult to understand?)

i. Introduction
ii. Technology
iii. Politics

2. Insights (What new insights or learning did you gain in discussion/ activity?)

i. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that the

Introduction is doesn’t consist of important information. However, reading the
article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize That science isn’t that
dangerous. I learned that science tends to show us on how the real world is
working. It helps us to understand the world logically. Yes, science is dangerous
but there will always a beauty within it.

ii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that when you
combine science and technology it would make them a perfect pair.
However, reading the article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize the
conflation of science and technology generates confusion and
misconceptions of the nature of both. science is all about understanding;
technology is all about making things, and it is with technology that ethical
issues arise. I learned that there’s no sign of science when building things in the
past. They used trial and error and the Five Minutes Theorem to discover and
build things. As they say, “There is no simple route from science and
technology”.

iii. Before reading the article/understanding the lesson, I thought that politics
doesn’t have any connections in science. However, reading the
article/understanding the lesson, I now think/realize the fear of public in
science came from the politics and not theologically because Politics has the
power and ability to influence the people that science is dangerous. They put
in the minds of people that science is a threat in the humanity which is the
opposite. Science gives us the knowledge and understanding for us to know
the better interpretation in the world. People see scientist as a threat, but
scientists are just fulfilling their social obligations. When the time comes where
we understand science more, scientists are going to have to learn to
understand more about public concerns and interact directly with the public.

3. Questions (What questions would you want answers for? Or vague areas you
want more explanations about?
i. What if eve didn’t eat the fruit? Can we still attain knowledge and
awareness on our surroundings?
ii. Can we still advance like these? When science and technology
didn’t conflate?
iii. If we don’t have politics what will happen when science is the one
running in our society?
