By the end of the lesson the students will be able to form compound adjectives in two
ways.
Eliciting:

 Who is the man in the picture?
 do you know him?
 Is he well-known in Indonesia?
b. Indonesian survivors
 Do you know them?
 Are they badly-treated by Netherland Army?

Main Activity:

Definition of compound adjective (well and badly)


Compound adjective is a form of two different words and occasionally three. They
usually written with hyphen. We'll discuss two ways of making compound
adjective as follows:

Formula:
1. Adjective/ Adverb/ Noun + present Participle
Ex.: a Good - looking boy
English - speaking Country
Long- Lasting life
Never- ending story

2. Adjective/ Adverb + Past Participle


Ex.:
Widely -recognized expert
A well-paid job
A Well-known president
A well-directed film
A Badly-paid job
A Badly-treated man

Exercise:
asking students to form the correct compound adjective in the following
sentences.

1. John was bad- kick by the horse - John was badly-kicked by the horse
2. It is a well- write story.
3. He is a narrow- minding person.
4. May you have a long- lasted life.
5. It is such a jaw- dropped performance.

 Definition of compound adjective (well and badly)
Compound adjective is formed when two or more adjectives are joined together to
modify the same noun. This terms should be hyphenated to avoid confusion or
ambiguity. For example : Diana adopted a two-year-old cat.
 Formula :
Adjective/ Adverb/ Noun + present Participle.
e.g : -Messi is a well-known soccer player
