II. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE:


A graduate of B.S. Criminology is prepared for careers in crime prevention, law enforcement, scientific detection, correctional administration and
allied fields.
III. PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
The graduate of B.S. Criminology program equipped with relevant knowledge, skills, attitude and values shall be able to:
a. conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, victims, and offenders to include deviant behavior;
b. internalize the concepts of human rights and victim welfare;
c. demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement administration, public safety and criminal justice;
d. utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and detection of crime;
e. apply the principles and jurisprudence of criminal law, evidence and criminal procedure; and
f. ensure offenders’ welfare and development for their re-integration to the community.

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

FUNDAMENTALS OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION
VIII. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Knowing the basic concept criminal investigation, as future law enforcers is very important for the students to acquaint with the technical
methods on how to conduct investigation. There are rules to observe in conducting investigation which the police investigator should take
account. The students must know the constitutional rights of the accused as embodied and mandated under the Constitution which is still a part
and parcel of the study.

XIV. CLASSROOM POLICIES


Class Attendance
1. Any student with 3 consecutive absences from his/her class must obtain a re-admission slip from the Guidance Counselor for presentation to
his Dean and his/her Instructor before he/she can be re-admitted to class.
2. When the student’s absences for one semester in a subject reach 20% of the required number of hours of recitation, lecture, laboratory or
any scheduled work, and the absences are not excused, the student shall be dropped from the class required in the respective colleges.
Absences due to the following are considered excused:
a. Students are sent on official business.
b. Students who are out of campus and could not return due to unavoidable circumstances.
c. Students who are ill or confined for hospitalization.
d. Excuses are for time missed only. All activities covered by the class during absences will be made up to satisfy the requirements missed
within the semester/summer before any final grade is given.
Examinations
1. The examinations should be taken at the scheduled date. Late comers will not be given the examination. Make up will only be given for
those who have valid reasons and upon presentation of an excuse slip. Those who were not able to take the exam without valid reasons will
be given “0” for the exam that was missed.
Proper Conduct
1. Students are responsible for staying abreast of the reading in the next and coming to class to participate in class discussion of the day’s
topics and in small group assignment.
2. During lecture they are expected to keep talking (personal comments to fellow students) to a minimum.
3. During lecture time they are not allowed to work on assignments or study for quizzes/exams in other classes.
4. Students are expected to come to class on time. If you have to leave class early, please inform me before class and sit in the back or on
side so you can make a quiet exit. Please use the restroom before coming to class.
5. Students are expected to make all the deadlines for projects. There will be 10-point deduction per day for late submission only up to third
day.
6. Students should treat all members of the class (fellow classmates and myself) with respect.
7. Any violation of the university’s academic honesty policy will result in an automatic grade of 5.0 and report to Student Tribunal.
8. Avoid making noise. No shouting and gagging in class.
9. All mobile gadgets should be turned off or turn into silent mode during the class.
ID and Uniform Requirements
1. All students are required to wear proper uniform and ID at all times.

Note: University policy states that Add/Drops must be completed within the four weeks of the semester. Following this time period, students must have a
“serious or compelling reason” to add or drop a course. It is the student’s responsibility to add/drop classes; not the instructor’s (even if you have come
to the class only one time).
