HANGOVER: AN EYE OPENER IN THE CURIOUS MINDS OF THE YOUTH TODAY

I am a member of food committee. The head of our committee told us to that the
assembly time will be exactly 6am. Before the event starts, some of the head of the committees
are already at the school as well as their members. They are busy in the preparation of the tables,
chairs, admission tickets, food etc. The head of our committee discussed what to do about our
tasks and responsibilities. Since our job as members of food committee will start at 9am, we
were asked to help the usherettes to guide the participants where to go. I guided them from the
registration area until where they should fall in line (checking of admission stubs) so that it’ll be
organized. Then I was appointed to sign every receipt of the students to make the work faster.
Some students started complaining because the theater was already full. It has reached the
maximum amount of people that it can accommodate. Then the students are allowed to stay if
they want for the next session.

At 9:00am we started to arrange the food for the participants (monde and C2). Boxes of
snacks were brought down and we started counting those for recording purposes. While waiting
for the participants to go out, some of us guided some of the visitors who were looking for the
room where the food is being served.

We were given one piece of stuffed bread and one cup of apple juice for our food. After a
few minutes, the first session is already finished and the participants are starting to go out of the
theater. As I am about to give the snacks for the students, the head of our committee asked me to
help my fellow committee members to number the receipts because the receipts are not enough
due to the massive number of the students who participated. So I went to the nursing department
and helped them number receipts.

It’s very hard to conduct an event like this. I learned to be punctual at some time so that
the head may discuss the tasks that were assigned to us. And also make it to a point that I’ve
done the task given to me properly also to be approachable and treat the visitors nicely. I give
compliment to the head of every committee because without their presence, this event won’t be
possible. Because of their patience, creativity, and dedication we are able to make this event
happen. Despite of the limited time given, they still managed to polish things and organized this
event even though they are kind of busy. The responsibility of being a member of a certain
committee is not as easy as I thought. You should be a good follower to accomplish every given
tasks and do it properly.
