7 mins Do Now

• Schoalrs enter and find their “Lava” group corner

• Vocal and physical Warm Ups

10 mins Launch

• Listen to song “Lava” to remind scholars of what the tempo and rhythm is–
while listening, scholar is passing around lyric/chord sheets
• Review Verse 1, Chorus 1, Verse 2 on piano
• Practice 3x

30 mins Guided Activity/Targeted Teaching Time (TTT)

• Groups are dismissed to get ukuleles

• Scholars are working together to sing and play at the same time
• The scholars are all playing the ukuleles and singing in preparation for
performing

8 mins Discourse

• Scholars break into their “Audience formation”, with ukulele on the floor face
down
• Groups will perform for each other one-by-one

2 mins Exit
• Scholars follow routine to put ukuleles away and line up at door
