I. OBJECTIVE

Students will identify the names of solid objects. Students will be able to describe
whether the texture of its object is smooth, rough, soft and hard.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Topic: Texture of a solid object


B. Reference: Science 3 page 2-10
C. Science Concept: Different characteristics of solid
D. Science Process: Listening, Visualization, Demonstration, Describing
E. Materials: Picture presentation, Laptop, Projector, Manila paper, cut
rectangular bond paper, cut pictures of solid objects, actual objects (rock,
pencil, book, eraser, chalk, cotton, mug, marble, piece of wood)
F. Valuing: We should know the different characteristic of solid that we
encounter.

III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES


A. GUIDED INQUIRY
1. REVIEW
What are the different characteristics of solid?

2. MOTIVATION
Name the objects that you usually hold when you are in your house or in
your classroom. What’s texture does it have?

3. SCIENCE VOCABULARY
Solid texture smooth rough soft hard

4. PRESENTATION
a. Presentation of Materials (presentation of solid object through power
point and demonstration)
b. Statement of the problem?
What do you see in the picture? Name the solid objects.
What is the texture of the objects?
c. Setting of materials that students will be using
d. Distribution of activity.

B. GUIDED EXPLORATION
1. ACTIVITY PROPER
 Picture presentation
Students will be divided into two (2) groups and they will be having an
activity that they have to name the objects that they saw on the
PowerPoint presentation and the teacher will also give them the print
picture, they will stick it in the manila paper and write down its texture
in a cut rectangular bond paper place it on the side of the picture.

C. GUIDED DISCOVERY
1. GENERALIZATION
What is solid?
What are the characteristics of solid?

The teacher will be discussing about the meaning of solid and what are the
different characteristics of it.

2. Application
Teacher have the actual objects which are the rock, pencil, book, mug, cotton
balls, and a piece of wood. Volunteer student will demonstrate in the front of
the class and after touching the object he/she will tell about its texture.

3. Valuing

We should know the importance of learning the solid matter in our


surroundings, in our home or in our classroom so we can identify its texture
especially of what we are using in our daily routine.
