Project Proposal

Combined final drive. (Bulldozer)

Group Members.

Introduction.
The final drive is the last in the set of components which delivers torque to
the drive wheels. In a road vehicle, it incorporates the differential. In a railway
vehicle, it sometimes incorporates the reversing gear.
The final gear train between the transmission and the ground.
In automotive and heavy equipment, this is the differential gear and axle assembly
that turns the wheels or track sprockets.

Objective.
In actual final drive consists of single reduction and double reduction which are
install according to desire depending on the size of the vehicle.
Our objective is to combine both single and double reduction as one unit which
would produce desirable torque.
By doing this we will be able to operate the bulldozer for different purposes, we
can enable single reduction for moving the bulldozer with pace. On other hand
during double reduction speed of the bulldozer will be reduced and maximum
torque will be achieved which will help to move heavy objects.
The work of two different reduction gears will be achieved by one whole system of
gears.

Components.
The components used are.
 Gears.
(Input gears, First reduction gear, Second reduction gear, Idler)
 Shafts.
(Input Shaft, Output Shaft)
 Support.
 Bushing.
 Shifter Fork.

Conclusion.
This project enables us to understand the function of final drive gear system.
Our idea will help us to modify the final drive gear system and to use it for
multiple purposes.
we can enable single reduction for moving the bulldozer with pace. On other hand
during double reduction speed of the bulldozer will be reduced and maximum
torque will be achieved which will help to move heavy objects.
The work of two different reduction gears will be achieved by one whole system of
gears.
