A: Take vital signs (especially blood pressure) frequently. Assess for edema. Monitor Intake and
output; weigh daily. Monitor renal function tests. Obtain history for hypersensitivity to aliskiren.

D: Risk for decreased cardiac output

P: Pt will be free of symptoms related to hypertension

I: Pt will take drug PO. Vital signs will be recorded frequently. Check for side effects like
diarrhea.

E: Symptoms of hypertension will be resolved.
