INTRODUCTION

Parking inventories are intended to gather information on existing parking supply

and its use. Parking inventories include observations of the number of parking
spaces and their location, time and the type of parking facility.

In order to facilitate the recording of parking locations, the study area is divided into
several blocks and block faces (East, West, North, South). Inventory data is then
displayed in tables to allow for a comprehensive method of evaluating the data.

An accumulation (or occupancy) check was used in analyzing the parking capacity
of the study area. Parking accumulation is the total number of vehicles parked at any
given time. The purpose of accumulation checks is to establish hourly variations and
peak parking demand.

Studies must be conducted to collect the required information about the capacity and
use of existing parking facilities. In addition, information about the demand for
parking is needed. Parking studies may be restricted to a particular traffic producer
or attractor, such as a store, or they may encompass an entire region, such as a
central business district.

Before parking studies can be initiated, the study area must be defined. A cordon
line is drawn to delineate the study area. It should include traffic generators and a
periphery, including all points within an appropriate walking distance. The survey
area should also include any area that might be impacted by the parking
modifications. The boundary should be drawn to facilitate cordon counts by
minimizing the number of entrance and exit points.

Once the study area has been defined, there are several different types of parking
studies that may be required. These study types are listed below and discussed in
detail in the remaining paragraphs.

Land Use Method of Determining Demand

OBJECTIVE

1. to determine frequency and the occupancy of the parking bay.

2. Organize study plan.
3. Select data collection technology.
4. Select appropriate site and collect field data.
5. Reduce and analyze data.
6. Interpret and report findings.
PROCEDURE

1. to work our experiment we decide the location at Jitra near Yawata block and we
select the time 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. in the morning for 1 hour.
2. we start our experiment as a whole group and start to look for the parking bay.
3. we assign parking lot number in our zone area.
4. at 9.30 a.m. record the parking lot number and plate number of the vehicle in each
parking bay on the parking analysis from that is attached.
5. we repeat our observation for the 5 time after 10 minutes for a total 1 hour.
6. analyse the collecting data and make specific charts that will show our results
