I. Objectives

At the end of the week’s lesson students would have:

1. Distinguish the relevance of East Asian music to their geographical,

and cultural background.

2. Determines the instruments in East Asian countries.

3. Describes the geography and culture of Japan, China, and Korea.

Topic: Music of East Asia (China, Japan, Korea)

Reference: Music and Arts of Asia Learners Module, p. 57-77

Materials: Strips

III. Routinary Activity

IV. Procedures

1. Motivation “Word Sketch ”

1.1 The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups.

 1.2 Each group will be given 2 strips of Mathematical Equation.

1.3 The answers to each equation will represent the letters in the

alphabet.

1.4 After solving, the word that resulted will be described by the group

through word association.

1.5 Each group will be given 5 minutes to do the activity.

2. Activity “Differentiated Activities”

2.1 Each group will be given 10 minutes to do their tasks.

Activity “Ooops Game!”

With the same group, the group shall stand and say “Ooops!” every
time the teacher calls their group number and the last man standing will
answer the following questions:

4.1 If you are to choose between the three countries which would you
like to go? Why?

4.2 What would you like to experience if you go to Korea, Japan, and
China?

4.3 What word best describes Korea, Japan, and China? Why do you
say so?

4.4 How different is Korea, Japan, and China to our country?

5. Application

5.1 Describe how do culture differs to every countries.

5.2 How important is culture and geography?

6. Evaluation

Activity “Class Graffiti”

Each group shall have two representatives for the activity. The
representative shall describe their thoughts about the lessons and
activities through writing in the poster at the board. They are only given
3 minutes to write their thoughts.

6. Agreement

In your activity notebook, research about the traditions and practices in

Japan, Korea, and China.
