THE CLINICAL SIMULATION ADMINISTRATION

Achievements:

1) Getting the Royal College of Canada Institutional Accreditation for KAMC, 1st August
2018.
2) Fulfil all the activities under the Royal College collaboration agreement, for the years
2016-2017 in addition to several activities in 2018 (kindly refer to Table 1 and Table 2
below).
3) Creating the Royal College Operations Office (RCOO) at the Clinical Simulation
Administration to follow up the progress of all areas of collaboration of the Royal College.
4) Signing an agreement with CanHealth International for inter-professional e-learning
training programs and workshops, which will highly support the institutional accreditation
and the 4 programs accreditations by the Royal College of Canada. In addition, it will also
improve the clinical skills of KAMC staff.
5) Establishing simulation training programs with full year schedule as per the
recommendation of SCFHS for the following programs:
 ICU
 Anesthesia
 Surgical
 Internal medicine
 Family medicine
6) AHA accreditation British School of Jeddah as an AHA site under KAMC, 1st June 2017.
7) Re-accreditation of LSTC as an American Heart Association International Training Center,
9th February 2018.
8) Trained 134 persons from Hajj Ministry on FA-CPR-AED for the 1439 Hajj Season.
9) Conducting numerous Life Support courses (BLS, ACLS, and PALS) in addition to
Advanced Trauma courses (ATLS) since 2015 (kindly refer to the Statistics report).

Obstacles:

1) Severe shortage of employees.


2) Establishing fixed rules and guidelines to cooperate with Health Economics Administration
(HECO).
3) Financial support.

Future plans:

1) Actively start the simulation projects:


a. The Simulation Equipment Tender.
b. The Simulation Constructional Project.
2) Resume the Royal College of Canada agreement.
3) Getting the RC programs accreditation (Surgery, Internal Medicine, Radiology, and
Anesthesia).
4) Getting the RC accreditation of the Clinical Simulation Administration as the center of
excellency.
5) Resume all the activities with CanHealth International.
6) Offer the FCCS courses.
