ACTIVITY 1: WORD DRILL


INSTRUCTION:
1. ARRRANGE THE JUMBLED LETTERS BELLOW TO FORM A WORD THAT MACHES THE GIVEN MEANING.
2. AFTER FINDING THE CORRECT ANSWER, LOOK FOR THE SAME WORD FROM THE BOX (TEACHER’S BOX) PASTE
THE WORD AND THE MEANING OF THE WORD ON THE CHART.
3. AS A GROUP, READ YOUR WORD AND THE MEANING IN UNISON.

‘‘FIX IT’

Address the situation by citing strategies/ways to fix the communication barriers.


Situations:
RED. John and Carla are just staring at each other for all long time. They both feel a little bit awkward already.
GREEN During the group discussion, Pedro was the only one sharing his idea about the topic and the rest of the group
remained silent even though each of them has an idea too.
YELLOW. You met your long lost friend in a restaurant and you both had a good time but it’s getting late.
BLUE. Ana and Rose were talking about prom but Anna wanted to ask Rose about her entrance exam results.

Activity # 3
1. From your box, you can find the type of strategy assigned to your group.
2. Study and analyze the meaning of the selected type of communicative strategy.
3. As a group, read your topic in unison.
4. Select someone to discuss your given topic in front of the class.
You are given 5 min. to study and 1 min. to discuss.
5. After the discussion, a sample statement is given to your group, place this statement to the correct communicative
strategy.

Activity # 4: Imaginary Trip


1. Pick the Most Exciting Tourist Spot in the Philippines.
2. Pretend that you are members of the Class Field trip Committee.
3. Role play the given prompts by your teacher. You have 15 min. to prepare and 1 min. to present.

Activity # 5: Select the correct communicative strategy used in the given statements.
