“Disaster Management Training”

Location: Talegaon Dabhade, Pune.

Supporting Faculty: 1) Prof. Swapnil Bandgar

Objectives:-

 To train the faculties to fight against disasters

 To reduce, or avoid, the potential losses from hazards, assure prompt and appropriate assistance to
victims of disaster, and achieve rapid and effective recovery.

Details:

 Trainer Mr. Satish Sontakke and Mr. Shailendra Bhaviskar were from ‘Jeevandan Consultancy’
 Event is organized for NMIET teaching and Non-teaching faculties.
 Participates were trained for;
o The basic concepts in disaster management, elements of disaster management, types of
natural hazards
o Basic terminology on Disaster Risk Reduction
o Safety checks and Handling of domestic LPG cylinders
o First aid in throat chocking
o First aid for fire and cold burns
o How to use fire extinguisher and their types
 Well demonstrations were given by trainers that helped to understand the techniques.
 Thus we left the place by with disaster management knowledge and confidence to fight against it.
