Cooking Competition

And Indonesian Culture Festival

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb.

Hallo, my name is Muhammad Elmas Fadlli from Accounting Department, I am from young

category.

My actions and contribution in promoting Indonesia is by creating a team for

International cook competition and creating Indonesian culture festival which will be held in

Jakarta for two weeks. The purpose of this event is to invite countries around the world to

come to Indonesia, in order to make them know that Indonesia is a big country that has many

differences with other countries since Indonesia has a lot of cultures, rich soil and many more.

Before continuing this event, we are going to ask for approval to our president and vice

president Mr. Joko Widodo and Mr. Jusuf Kalla, because this event will have a direct impact

to our country. Therefore, we need financial support and give a speech for countries which

will be participated in this competition.

Our way to invite participants from countries around the world is by making a poster

to inform this competition and will be shared or uploaded in all social medias. Another way to

invite participants is by sending email or letters to all countries in the world. And we also ask

for to the president and vice president to pray so that this cultural event and festival will be

succeed like our expectations.

All representatives from each country in this competition are required to arrive a week

sooner or in other word before the competition begins which is D-7. The purpose is that
participants in this competition will have time to visit or explore various area in Indonesia or

make a tour around Indonesia. So they can see that Indonesia has a wide territory and has

many beautiful islands from Sabang to Merauke. That’s why Indonesia is known as archipelago

country.

During the tour in across Indonesia, my team will do photo documentation as proof

that Indonesia has held an international competition followed by various countries around the

world and the documentation will be uploaded via social media.

Each participant in this competition will be provided with a handbook which contains

rules to be followed, equipment that should be brought when traveling, and travel routes.

A bus will be used during the tour to accommodate participants from place to place

and it is mandatory for participants to take part in the tour. Meaning all the participants will

do the tour together at the same time. The cost of bus fare is included in the cost of

registration of the competition that has been taken into account, so the contestants don’t

need to be confused and worried about the cost of this trip.

The rules in this travel is simple enough that it is mandatory to follow the direction

given by the committee and should not break the rules. If the participants break the rules and

cause some unexpected events or accidents, then it is not our responsibility and we may

disqualify the participants who do not comply with the established rules.

For the equipment, prayer equipment is need to be brought during the tour for

Muslims. Musical instruments are allowed to be brought but only easy-to-carry musical

instrument. It isfor the convenience of participants while traveling.

 The first destination of the tour is Banyuwangi which is famous for its dragon fruit and

can be used as souvenir from Indonesia, The next destination is Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is

famous by its a prambanan temple and Borobudur temple. The participants are free to take

pictures and feel free to go around the site. Since both temples have good view, this will

interact participants to promote the temples to their own countries. Besides the temples,

Yogya is also well known for its silky batik. The batic is very smooth and beautiful and can also

be used as souvenirs from Indonesia.

The next route is Bandung which is known as the paris van java. Bandung has so many

beautiful tourism places and the weather is also cool. Bandung also the producer of cheap and

high quality fabric. The participants also can go around the city and can visit its very famous

college that is telkom university which has many students who are active and excellent.

The day before the competition, there will be held the opening of the competition

event. The opening will be done by the president of Indonesia, Joko Widodo and the vice

president, Jusuf Kall. After the opening, we will show Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia

Raya. And the national anthem of other countries as well.

We wish that the opening will create a good atmosphere and strengthen the

nationality and internationality between countries. So that Indonesia can tighten and

strengthen the relationship with other countries. Photo documentation is also will be done

during the opening event.

On the cooking festival day, each country will cook and serve their country culinary.

Before the competition started, Our team will serve gado gado, Opor Ayam, and fried rice as

appetizer (opening menu) to the contestants.

 The purpose of the appetizer is to show to the contestants that Indonesia has various

culinary whis has delicious and great unique taste. Made from the spices around Indonesia.

So that, through this competition, they will kniw that Indonesia has so many ingredients and

many culinary.

The rules of the competition are, each participant has to cook their country food within

3-4 hours and the jury’s decision cannot be contested. The cook utensils are provided by the

committee of the event. The participants only need to mention the ingredients they need.

And so the competitionis ready to start. Before we announce the winner in the contest,

our team will held the indonesian cultural festival. In the festival, we will perform wayang,

saman dance, kecak dance, and many more.

We also will exhibit batik, keris, angklung, etc. the purpose of this festival is to enliven

the cook competition and to show various cultures in indonesia.

Before the event close, we as the committee will give souvenirs to all of the

contestants, batik, wayang, and accessories from indonesia.

As the event finish, we will announce the winner of the competition.

From each event, we will always take the documentation from the very beginning to

the end. And we will upload the results to make them public through the social media such

as twitter, facebook, youtube and instagram.

Since there is 75% people in the world prefer to use social media in their daily life, so

we choose to publish the documentation through social media. So we hope people around

the world will see that Indonesia is a proud country which is rich with its natural wealth and

culture.
 So, by creating international cooking competition and Indonesian culture festival, we

can promoting our culture natural wealth to other countries. So that Indonesia will be known

as a big country.

This is my action and my contribution in promoting Indonesia to the whole world.
