1. How does the artist want the audience to react?

After looking at the artwork for a while you truly appreciate it and immediately
feel a connection to the artwork, the artist shows the struggle and pain that
the character conveys. This is shown in the unique way in which he uses cubism
to create a more surreal and abstract way to communicate the despair from
the artwork.

2. In your opinion, what is the dominant mood?

The dominant atmosphere created is a sorrow mood and is through the choice
of shapes and emotion shown on the artwork. The bright background
creates contrast between the foreground and background, so it really
makes the darker colour stand out to create that mood.

3. Do the colours and shapes used evoke any emotions?

As I mentioned before the background colours help stand out against the
colours in the foregrounds even though he uses a choice of more lighter
colours than darker to create the same effect which is creative and the shapes
aid to give it an abstract look.

The materials that have been used I think are acrylic paint or oil pastels to
achieve that vibrant colour.

The artist uses shape, tone, line and colour to create a vibrant, effective
and show the despair in the artwork through the mediums and how
effective the different shades or tones of the colour are spread in
artwork. The shapes help make the artwork look more creative and give
it a surreal look.

I think the way the lady is draw and her tissue is illustrated as an object of
significance and is very interesting to comprehend. I think tissue is a symbol of
support and the colours are a sign of hope.
