Our Year 2019

New Graduate Lauren Our big news this year was Lauren graduating with
honors from the University of Portland. It was a wonderful
graduation. It’s amazing how quickly time flies. We’re proud of
the young woman Lauren has become. She loves Portland
and is currently working in marketing at a tech firm there.

Hal has transitioned from boating to RVing. He continues to be

very active with his Roadtrek group, camping mostly in
northern CA with some excursions along the OR coast. Hal
plans to retire from the Univ of CA in July 2020. He plans to
keep busy with home repairs, yard work, and camping.

Cathy continues to enjoy her job in accounting. She still likes

Heavenly her morning walks and runs in town, as well as some yoga
classes. She made a few trips back east to celebrate reunions
with friends and classmates and the retirement of a lifelong
friend.

Family travels. Hal and Cathy started the new year with a
camping trip with friends at Point Reyes, CA. Skiing at Lake
Tahoe in March was a lot of fun and very relaxing. This spring
took us to Portland and Spokane for graduation celebrations.
We also took a few sojourns to San Francisco and Napa (we
love that they are so close). Small remodeling projects and
necessary repairs kept us busy through the year. We enjoyed
spending Thanksgiving in the Monterey Area, visiting with
Lauren’s boyfriend’s family.
