CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

The study tackles about the SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats)

analysis of Villa Veronica. This output is a requirement for Macro Perspective, where

in students should provide a SWOT Analysis for their chosen manmade or natural sight.

BRIEF HISTORY

Villa Veronica is a Resort located at Brgy. Taberna, Bauang, La Union. It is

owned by Mrs Irene Veron B. Chico. The resort started its operation on October 20,

2018. The owner put up this business because it is her long-time dream. They provide

several services such as room rentals, shed rentals, SPA massage and entrance fee for

those who want to access their swimming pools.

ATTRACTIONS

Villa Veronica as a lot of sceneries aside from the services they offer.

Their architectural design of their building are santurini- inspired. They have a

lot of instagram worthy place around the resort starting from their picturesque

pools with dolphin cement sculpture, a bar in the middle of the pool, palm trees

and amazing furniture displays at the lobby. Aside from that, the resort is also

near the vicinity of the beach which is only walking distance and it gives vibes

in the resort. Below are the pictures taken at Villa Veronica.

Villa Veronica offers a lot of services from pool and shed, room check-in, spa
massage, water activities and event hall rentals. Below are the room rates of
the services offered.

SWOT ANALYSIS

Is a strategic planning technique used to help a person or organization identify strengths,

weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to business competition or project

planning. A study undertaken by an organization to identify its internal strengths and

weaknesses, as well as its external opportunities and threats.

STRENGTH

Are factors which the company holds expertise in and contribute to the

continued success of the organization. Characteristics of the business or project that

give it an advantage over others.

The first strength is they have an approachable staffs .The owner and that their edge

on other competitors is their staffs it is because their staffs are very much welcoming

and they treat their staffs as their family that is why all of the staffs are comfortable and

happy working there.

The second strength is they have acoustic singer. They provide entertainment

to their costumer at night and it makes the resort alive at night.

The third is they hire their people that are residence in theur location .They gave

opportunities to residents of Brgy. Taberna to work even with disabilities or those who

have hard time looking for job.

WEAKNESSES

Are factors that prevent an organization from meeting its mission and achieve

full potential. Characteristics of the business that place the business or project at a

disadvantage relative to others.

The first weaknesses based on my observation, they don’t have security

guard at morning even at night which may cause problems in the future and

safety. The second is their comfort rooms are not clean. Cleanliness should always

be maintained. The third is there are still other buildings that are under construction

which makes the place dirty and inconvenient to other costumers.

OPPURTUNITIES

The environment which our organization operates offers opportunities Elements

in the environment that the business or project could exploit to its advantage.

Being first resort put up at Brgy. Taberna, they will be able to attract a lot of tourist and

also other businessman can p0ut up their business in the future. Since they are the first

resort in the place, they’ll be able to promote expand their business and become well

known resort in the municipality or region in the near future.

THREATS

Elements in the environment that could cause trouble for the business or

project. Factors existing in the external environment that jeopardize the profitability and

reliability of the organization.

Their threats is the other resort are only meters away from the resort, and some of them

are already well-known like Lafayette and Villa Marand.

SUMMARY/ CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

SUMMARY

The owner of Villa Veronica is Mrs. Irene Veron b, Chico. Villa

Veronica staterted October 20, 2018. It is located at Taberna Bauang La

Union. They choose this type of business because it is their dream. They

choose to put up there business at brgy. Taberna they want to raise up

the tourism of bauang. Their competitors are the other resort of bauang.

Their target costumer are the mid and high class. They promote their

business in social media. The strength of villa veronica are they have

approachable staffs. Acoustic at night and they hire their people are

residents in their location. The weakness of villa veronica are they don’t

have security guard and life guard. And their comfort room is dirty. The

opportunities of villa veronica are it can be a well-known resort and the

threats of villa veronica is they have more competitors.

RECOMMENDATIONS

They should have a creative marketing strategy in attracting customers.

They should train and develop their employees for higher satisfaction of

customers. They should check and clean restroom every after an hour or

2 hours and check toilet utilities if it works. They should maintain their

strength.
